According to Nottingham Forest sources, restoring confidence and positivity were the priority for Vitor Pereira and his staff from minute one.

There was a desire to create a working environment with high standards, excellence and continuous improvement but also an atmosphere of “daily joy”.

One where players would see it as a pleasure to come to training, an environment where there was genuine care between team-mates and the coaching staff.

“The thing with him is that he only ever transmits positive energy; he has only ever given us confidence. As players, that is what has made the difference,” striker Igor Jesus tells The Athletic.

Pereira has also played his part in repairing the bond with supporters; he has become a popular figure, having introduced a style of play that, as well as being easier on the eye, has also borne fruit.

With two more games left to play, extending the unbeaten run would only enhance his standing.
