Not many players from the Northwest especially the Manchester area who got to play for the English National Team. Not then, not now, & I foresee it to happen the same in the future. Would absolutely hate bringing Eddie Howe. He’s on carricks level. I would take Carrick over him because he understands the club. If there’s a real heavy hitter, not just a heavy name, that would come in, I would be open. But rather keep Carrick on a 1 year contract, optional 3 year extension. We have interviewed and hired big name managers and as someone will say experienced managers but they all failed so we don’t want that direction anymore. We want ‘inexperienced’ Carrick who is able to get the best from the players . If we give the job to him and things collapse as the managers who have come and gone, that is still a better decision because we based it on what he did and we can live with that than to not take him, bring a new manager and be in the same old bad spell of outcomes!
