  1. I think he had his best game for us against brentford, man was absolutely everywhere and put in a real shift. It was very noticable how much better his stamina was, he used to get gassed early before but you could see the difference Monday night

    # Mainoo signs new contract

**Kobbie Mainoo has signed a new contract that will extend his stay with Manchester United until June 2031.**

The Stockport-born midfielder is widely recognised as one of the best talents of his generation. He joined the club’s world-renowned Academy in 2014, having been associated with Manchester United since the age of six.

At just 21, the boyhood United fan has already made 98 appearances for the club, scoring the decisive goal in the 2024 Emirates FA Cup final and representing England in the Euro 2024 final.

    # Kobbie Mainoo said:

**“Manchester United has always been my home; this special club means everything to my family.**

**“I have grown up seeing the impact that our club has on our city, and I relish the responsibility that comes with wearing this shirt.**

**“From The Cliff, to Littleton Road, to Carrington and ultimately Old Trafford, the journey so far has been incredible. I have the privilege of living my dream every single day, with the same relentless desire to succeed here as when I joined my first training session at the age of six.**

**“We can all feel the momentum building inside the club. I am determined to step up and play my role in helping Manchester United to regularly fight for major trophies in the years ahead.”**

    # Jason Wilcox, Manchester United Director of Football, said:

“Kobbie is one of the most naturally gifted young footballers in the world.

“His technical ability, dedicated professionalism and humble personality make him the perfect role model for our young players and a true credit to our outstanding Academy system.

“We are delighted that Kobbie has extended his stay here and have full confidence that he will develop into one of the best players in the world, ready to play a pivotal role in a Manchester United team challenging for the biggest honours.”

Football can change very fast… Fully expected him to leave 4 months ago and now he’s one of the better performers with a huge new contract.

An academy player with a well deserved raise that also isn’t some eye-watering 300k deal we’ll never get out from under. We used to dream of days like this

  5. Glad he’s proving those who doubted him during Amorim’s era wrong.

Hope he continues to improve his game and become a future Captain for us.

It’s all about finding the right midfield partner for him now.

  6. To think that he almost departed to Napoli.

Stay and make even more great memories, boy. We love you.

  7. Now he needs to put up performances like last game week in week out and all the money talk won’t matter. So glad we kept him after how the start of the season was going

Seems a bit crazy considering the managerial situation isn’t set but fair play

We risked losing the last of these three, and all within a year. Glad we salvaged our local boy!

Big shoutout to the many I argued with under Amorim who tried convincing me he had regressed and needed to leave the club. Such an important player – getting better by the week.

  12. Quiet personalities like Mainoo usually need a bit of love to really see them commit and unlock their potential. New contract and pivotal role in the team hopefully means the start of us seeing him really shine
