Keith Gillespie’s early header settled this nervous Monday night encounter in front of the Sky cameras at Elland Road.
However, the real headlines were made in the post-match interview by Kevin Keegan, which culminated in his infamous ‘Love it, just love it’ comments directed at Alex Ferguson.
What is often forgotten though is the source of KK’s anger: Fergie’s claim that Nottingham Forest would lie down for United at the City Ground three nights later, due to Keegan agreeing to take part with his side in a testimonial match for Stuart Pearce.
