Bit of a random Everton connection for the Aussies/Kiwis, but I’ve just found out that Heidelberg United in the Victorian NPL sing their own variation of “It’s a Grand Old Team”
Idk who this information is for but a fun tidbit to distract from that shite

Shame about the result. The good news is one of our transfer targets scored a goal and was named man of the match in his game. Don’t remember the name but he’s a Czech midfielder

Defensive stalwart Mykolenko absolutely mullered at the back post again for the second goal and the first is a repeat of last week’s set-piece (5th from inside the 6-yard box off the top of my head) 👍
We’re the Groundhog Day club of footballing irrelevance.

What if PGMOL are actually Everton fans who just all hate Barry and refuse to give him penalties

If we’d have got Europe we probably would have just gone out early and had to focus on a relegation battle anyway

See alot of people on twitter losing their minds and talking about Moyes out. A few weeks ago it was Moyes is amazing give him a new contract quick.
Can we blues not just be sensible and say he’s going decent.
I think we’re just above a passing grade.
Sitting at a C+ at the moment.
Missing out on European football with the run in we had left as of the international break, and Moyes not playing players will ultimately be a black mark the he is responsible for himself though.

It is a shame about the result, it is, but anyone chanting “Moyes Out” or saying we haven’t improved from last year is insane. The PL has been incredibly competitive this year, we’re still 3 pts off of Europe, and we’re in 12th.

Moyes has stabilised the ship and even made improvements, let him cook… next year we’ll be back stronger…

‘Accidental handball’, in contrast to ‘intentional handball’ where players intentionally give away a penalty for shits and giggles.

Have refs across all sports this weekend just agreed to be fucking useless?

I’m not for “Moyes out” but if there is a better manager out there available, we’re now next season at the point to start building something, and I don’t think Moyes is the man for that job

Who knows, maybe one of the super duper smart clubs like Brighton or Brentford will turn down the opportunity to play in Europe because it’s ‘too soon’ and their squads not ready

can’t see us winning any of the remaining games.

That awful penalty decision yesterday was when “Everton that” and Spursy combine.

Emotionally, I get it feels like Europe is further than ever. We’ve dropped 3 places in the blink of an eye, back to back losses in stoppage time, and Man City next which is a probable loss for us.
But we still sit just THREE points from 6th place, a potential CL spot! And our last three matches are easily winnable.
I understand how right now it feels like a mediocre end to an otherwise solid season — but on paper Europe is still very much within reach.
