I mean this 100%, one of the best results of the entire season. The last few games are going to be extremely difficult especially since we lost mo but this was a big win at a crucial time

Decent one on social media:
> Despite Alexander Isak scoring for Liverpool against Crystal Palace today, the message remains clear. Newcastle have no intention of selling Isak and any move to Liverpool will be blocked 🚫

I think with this weekend, CL is practically done. Will enjoy watching the matches around the title race and the relegation battle.

Gapko had a good game, Jones again motm for me, or robbo or wirtz
Not playing to the whistle at professional level is a crime
Gravenberch has lost his mind btw, only reason he didn’t get yellow is because szobzo kicked away the ball
Salah was really really poor but I hope we get to see him play one last time before the season, doesn’t look great though

I guess the main thing I’m thinking about the day after is I really hope will be Salah will be back for that final match of the season.

Props to woodman. Put in a great performance in his first start at this level.

Isak is better when our players not relying so much on the wingers to finished the attack. Saw more passes to him compared to the derby game. I hope the team should learn by now Isak is a target man and he want the ball to his feets when he gets into the position to score.
Don’t understand how there’s some obviously better way to deal with this.
Commit to putting a man on the goal line and you’re playing Strand Larsen onside if it’s a cross, which was the likelier expectation.
They had about two seconds to decide this btw, they went with the play for what they anticipated.
Don’t know why we need to grill the defence so hard when the obvious failing was with the ref.

Isak and Flo are quality, but Woodmans performance WAS the game changer

Isak looked much better.
I thought Mac was better as well.
I thought our shape was a similar issue so much space between the lines

get the ball to isak somehow, even if it is completely by accident

Turns out the solution of our midfield being swamped post Trent was to just play some CM as a RB

The thing I saw yesterday 4 or 5 times that I really liked was the long ball to the LW and a free runner right near Cody. He had 4 or 5 flicked-on headers from long balls that were great. We need more of that with someone there for him to head it to and get in behind.

Good result and going to be some really tough games coming up. Fingers crossed we get it over the line.

One of the best second half performances this season

I’m a fool; my happiness is directly linked to these dudes kicking a ball into a net. Sprinkle some passion and a fighting spirit on top of that and I start to believe we might be on to something!
I thought this was a great game and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

The system (Slot) still wobbled mightily yesterday but it was overcome by a touch of luck and a lot of LFC (players) movement. Was great to see the offense play a little looser. It opened gaps and was also fun to watch. Keep it up, lads!!

Missed the game. Aside from the result and a banger from Wirtz. How did we play? Anything to suggest football under Slot is improving?
Thanks!

The season has been all over the place and without any constant, but are we crazy to think that 3rd place is a legit chance right now? Considering where we could have been.

I liked the performance but obviously we need some more pace on the wings, anyway I feel that slot sees frimpong more as a winger than a right back. Honestly I think the signings for next season should be a right winger for obvious reasons, a right back since Bradley is injury prone, a centerback and idk but I really liked Warton yesterday, maybe get an striker on loan. Going back to the performance, besides the slow start Muñoz we were better until the palace goal which because of the situation kinda made the game a bit uncomfortable.

Glad we finally got a somewhat comfortable result against Palace in sometime.
