  1. “KMI panel statistics show that Jones has been responsible for five of the 12 errors this season regarding second yellow cards not being shown. All of his mistakes should have resulted in red cards.”

  2. JeffTheGoliath on

Jones has cost us twice out of his 5 errors.

Never should be allowed to ref us again!

  3. But did they consider that if the goalkeeper wasn’t there then what happened wouldn’t have happened?

This whole season has utterly exposed the PGMOL of being either utterly useless or utterly corrupt. Either way they need overhauling.

  4. More surprised that it was a 3-2 split, considering how Stevie fucking Wonder could probably see the blatant two-handed shove Brobbery did, whilst he was already on a yellow…

  5. Foucaultshadow1 on

2 of 5 missed red cards by Jones directly favored the opposition in our games. This is more than any other one team. City, meanwhile, benefited from Jones errors 2 out of 5 missed red cards.

But I thought Dermot Gallagher cleared it all up on Ref Watch? You mean to tell me he was wrong?

  7. AntysocialButterfly on

Meanwhile, here’s what Dermot Gallagher said about the incident…

Either incompetence or corruption. Neither are acceptable and a referee this bad should be sacked. He’s not fit to officiate at any level.

  9. TheFoxDudeThing on

Not saying we would be much higher on the table if the refs didn’t keep fucking up our games. We have been fucking woeful after all but I don’t think we would be 18th I think we would be 15th-13th still shit for our standards but not staring at the EFL logo

  10. ScarWinter5373 on

We could very well have got a point or more against 10 men. It was a lacklustre game but we defo deserved something there, a point at least. With half hour left on the clock we maybe could’ve got all three?

It’s not even shocking, Jones is the worst ref in the league by a mile

  11. I’ve watched almost every game for last 16 seasons but this season is the worst as referring goes, we are extremely poor and bad but surely this is one of factors. Each game I feel gaslighted, there should be at least VAR changes that “buddy – buddy” system don’t apply, each time they cover each other mistakes.

I don’t know if I’m taking crazy pills but attitude towards us changed after “that Liverpool game” few years ago

  12. Same_Syllabub_9838 on

What a fucking joke. What is the point of VAR when this shit comes out weeks later and tells us what we knew at the time? Basically the inept refereeing costing us points and probably our premier league place. There needs to be a review and total overhaul of the refereeing standards in this country. Professional football has suffered because of the ridiculous decisions and total lack of continuity of decisions from one match to the other and it needs to be sorted out.

  13. Tony Pulis had the right idea years ago. Refs should be in a league table with relegation, it should work the same way the PL does, the three worst refs in the league get relegated to The Championship and the best three from The Championship get promoted and so on for the other leagues.

12 errors made on second yellow cards and Jones made 5 of them, that’s incompetent officiating.

  14. Oh come on, it was clearly Romero and Kinsky’s fault.

They shouldn’t have been there and we should have just allowed Brobbey to score.

(Sarcasm in case it wasn’t clear)

  15. ThemistoclesWorld on

Wonderful – I wonder how many points they have cost us.

    Reminder: Commentators blamed Romero

  16. curlyhairedpeanut on

There’s been so many bad decisions against us this year I honestly can’t even remember the Rodri one…

  17. There’s no “conspiracy” per say, but 19 teams would be happy to see us go down, so refs know any time theyre in a tricky spot to give something our way or the oppositions way, there will undoubtedly be less of a headache if the decision goes against us.

The same can’t be said of our relegation competition. If a decision goes against Forest etc that benefits us, there will be more public scrutiny of it. I truly believe refs are internalising this and its impacting the outcome of decisions and games.

  18. Tater-Tottenham on

So let me guess as a form of apology the refs will award a penalty to Spurs during the Wolves game after we’re up 2 goals with 5 minutes left. I’m joking, but as odd as all the ref and VAR decisions have been this year nothing would surprise me.

  19. cableguysmith on

“Ooopsy pooopsy, we got it wrong. Teehee teehee, my mistake. I’ll do better next time, I promise.”

Meanwhile these errors have real life, real money, real club outcomes that are impossible to fix in reverse. What are the refs consequences?! Ya, exactly. Fuck off you useless twats.

  20. Special-Purchase-408 on

Can’t wait for this rule to finally be correctly enforced this weekend, and VDV to get sent off as a result

  21. “Starting from next season, the video assistant referee will be able to review red cards resulting from two yellows, but they will not be able to look at missed second cautions.”

Yet again I ask, what the fuck? Who is writing these VAR rules for the PL? They seem absolutely allergic to handing iut yellows upon review, which makes ZERO sense. The on field ref should ALWAYS be able to give yellows after looking at the monitor.

Oh, that reminds me. You know what is missing from this article? Any mention of the ref not being sent to the monitor to look for himself. I still have zero idea of what conditions necessitate the ref going to the monitor, because it appears to be completely fucking random.

  22. Genuine question: isnt the point of VAR to NOT have these mistakes, or to at least correct them in-game? The fact there sre this many errors puts a spotlight on how shit the VAR rules are written in England, yet they never get fixed.

  23. An agenda to get us relegated – who knows, Retrospective action against  Brobbery ?? No i thought not- deduct 6 points from Everton and a red for Romero.

  24. Strange-Exercise1860 on

It’s wild that a single official accounts for nearly half the missed second-yellows this season—that’s not just incompetence, it’s a pattern. Combine that with a 3-2 panel split on a shove so obvious a blind man could see it, and you have to wonder what the hell the other two were watching. The PGMOL needs a complete reset, not just a slap on the wrist.

  25. Useless. What is the point of the KMI panel? Do refs get relegated to a different league? Do they get suspended for a match? Pointless…

  26. 420SwaggyZebra on

Biggest shocker from this article is the fact 2 of the officials thought it was fine.

  27. Unless the referees are punished somehow for this sort of thing, what’s the point of a review? Will Brobbey even be fined? Probably not.
