    # De Ligt continues rehab

**Manchester United defender Matthijs de Ligt is working hard on his rehabilitation, under the supervision of the club’s medical staff.**

The popular Netherlands international made an excellent start to the season and was deservedly voted our Player of the Month for November by supporters.

Matthijs has unfortunately been sidelined since 30 November, but the 26-year-old remains upbeat and focused on returning to full fitness.

As you can see in our exclusive images from Carrington, **captured on Thursday afternoon,** **De Ligt is working on the grass doing some individual training.**

**The centre-back is working individually and doing everything he can to return.**

De Ligt is focused on returning to full fitness, as of yet Michael Carrick has not disclosed a timescale when he is due to return to action.

Keep up the good work, Matta, we’re all behind you.

  2. They’ve said that the nature of his injury means his health can fluctuate and so he can get on the grass for a bit then have to come off again. This has happened before a few times already.

  3. In a parallel universe we get Van de Ven and a healthy De Ligt locking down defences

  4. Good to see him back, but with the way Heaven has stepped up and Maguire and Martinez are performing, there’s actually no reason to rush him. Better to give him a full pre-season to avoid any other setbacks .

I really hope he’s fine. Injury this long is just beyond the normal way I feel about injuries on players. I think it’s especially because what he went through irl and the “small” rumour wondering whether he’d play football again or not, that slowly but surely is getting me more and more worried y’know?

We have to give this every chance to work out. If it doesnt, we have to move on, but this summer is too early to give up entirely, imho. He was too good in the Fall for that. Also he’s young enough, his contract has enough left on it, etc.

The one we need to be ruthless about imho, with regret, is Martinez.

    That’s how I see it.

Honestly don’t even rush it from here. if he doesn’t play again this season cool. If he doesn’t go to the World Cup, even better

Set a timetable to get him back fully fit and ready for preseason IMO

Yeah dont see him going tbf and he could do with summer off make sure hes fit for start of season but who knows

  9. Seems like it was a tough one, if you do something to your back it can be tricky to get right. Hope he is healthy soon for his own sake as much as ours.

  10. The dude has always had ridiculous shoulders. If you put propellers on him I reckon he’d take off

It’s downright sad that we can’t manage to have a better defense than
Maguire, Martinez, Shaw, Dalot and De ligt

  12. Even if he recovers, I hope they dont use him again this season so that he can continue with his rehabilitation over the summer. Just hope he doesnt go to the World Cup coz that would like taking a 100 steps back in his recovery!
