I feel like this response from Chivu has been largely overlooked. He tends to protect and praise every player publicly. From what I’ve read and heard from pundits, aside from that car accident, there seem to be other concerns about his professionalism and this was the consequence, but the details are all quite vague.

what an odd thing to say. Very unlike Chivu. Something must be up. I’m a big fan of his and honestly would use him next season but this has me worried.
Just so I don’t make another post about this as well: apparently Sucic had surgery on his hand. If you remember, he had it bandaged for like two months and shouldn’t have been playing, but we needed him since Hakan and Miki were also injured, so he played like that.
That’s right, I’m also surprised no one discussed this statement in the sub, I guess fans are just busying enjoying the comeback
But seriously if you consider the way Chivu usually expressed in front of the press, this statement was pretty harsh and we’ll definitely see a new GK next season and that’s no way JM
Sommer has been playing poopoo peepee bad almost the entire season, there’s no good reason why Pepo shouldn’t have played unless he fucked Chivu’s wife or some shit like that.
he did play two matches in a row. Maybe whatever shit he did in the past, Chivu is over it? We’ll see in the coming months where his career is heading. If away from Inter, must be some unforgivable shit, because it wasn’t the lack of quality he left him on the bench for so long. Personally I hope Chivu already turned his life in the right place (if that’s the reason) and he’ll start for us going forward.
I think Chivu said this bc JM WAS behaving poorly, but he got his shit together and is now being rewarded with more playing time. I could obviously be wrong.
It was obvious this was the reason. I shared the thought the other day but some people still choose to make us some ideas, statistics and all the rest when the reason was obvious enough.
He hasn’t played due to non-sporting reasons, not because Spinelli calculated the Sommer would save X% in N games or such.

I read that he has been late to training quite a few times, I think Chivu was right to bench him if that’s the reason. Following the rules should be number one priority in a group, and those who do not respect them deserve punishment. Otherwise you will break the spirit of the group
Regardless of what the reason is…also Inzaghi had the same attitude with him.
Just sayin that I believe it’s not a “Chivu” issue…if anything, Chivu is actually giving him a chance to get his act together and be great ..then I guess it’s up to Martinez…which btw on the pitch never looked terrible or not up to the task.
It’s not rocket science.. he’s not as good as Sommer, he’s not as reliable as Sommer, the team is not as comfortable with him as they are with Sommer…
