it's crazy to think how good he COULD have been if he tried a bit more instead of every now and again. went missing in games so often, seemed way too comfortable and safe, often late to training, never bothered with a proper diet – would eat pizza and shi before games. If he had 10% of Willian's work rate at the time he would've been insane, such a shame!

My favourite Hazard story was from before he signed for Chelsea. Liverpool had approached Hazard and he was about to sign the contract but just before he signed it Steven Gerrard came up to Hazard and told him "as long as I play for Liverpool you'll always be second fiddle to me, I'm the local hero, I'm the best player, and you're not". Hazard smirked then tore up the contract and signed for Chelsea and the rest is history.

Everyone that's played with Hazard says he could have been as good as messi. To me he was better than Salah even though his numbers are not as good
Hazards Madrid story is so sad, he had surgery on that ankle and then the country went in lockdown a few days later so he couldn’t have any rehab or physio. People are way too harsh about his Madrid days imo.

Hazard was such a beautiful player to watch. Great touch, technique, pace, vision…a special talent.
Football is "the Beautiful game" because of flair/Maverick players, but these attributes are being coached out of players at an early age.
Academies won't produce players like Gazza, Okocha, Ronaldinho, John Barnes, Hazard, Zidane, Henry, R9, Messi, Maradona etc… the players that entertain.
Maybe you could do an episode on "Mavericks" and who haven't hit the heights they could have (Taarabt and Balotelli for instance)
