  1. Might be why we seem to get gassed towards the end of the season and have a never ending injury list

I’ve seen enough. Rearrange the table. Arsenal first and Leeds runners up. Palace in CL too

    Wonderful.

Might be because our possession stats are dismal this year. Mid-table clubs keep the ball more than us.

Does anyone know what the 1 game was? I feel like it might be away to one of Wolves or Forest

Its partly down to our fluid interchanging of positions. Also our centre backs are tasked to press high and stay high to build play – see Gabriel or Saliba occupying the left and right middle of the opponents

Cardio FC strikes again if running wins trophies, Arsenal already have the league wrapped up at this point.

Are we a football club or running club? Nobody gives a rat’s ass about these stats except for the positivity brigade

Wouldn’t bring up these pointless stats if we secured at least a trophy now, sigh.

  9. Runs back to our own box to defend, how fun.

    Wish they were runs forward.

Watch Arteta when an attacking player loses the ball trying to be creative vs a defensive player making a mistake passing out the back. One is him heaving his entire body saying “GET BACK YOU DICKHEAD”, the other is the overhead clap “nice try boys”

  10. We need to find ways to rotate better. We’ve seen against City and a few other games we’re such a good pressing team. We just can’t turn it on every game and it won’t be needed every game but I felt we didn’t have the energy to turn it on when needed especially the second half of the season.

  11. People are (fairly) pointing out style, intensity, possession etc., I’ll throw in not killing off games as a massive reason for this, and therefore our fatigue. Far too games where we have to play the full 90, instead of killing it by the 60/70 mark. Your players have to stay physically and mentally locked in till the end, you make less subs to save legs because you need players you trust to see out the game. It’s the main reason Norgaard hasn’t played more – how often do we have lead safe enough to take off Rice or Zubimendi (still think we should have more but the point remains)

  12. Doesn’t rotate enough too. It is criminal that Norgaard an experienced premier league player for mutklple years has played less than 100 minutes

Arteta has poor planning and squad management. Good coach but a novice in this area

Thats why City come alive in the final Sprint. They rest in possession while every Arsenal game is This hoofball foward and Chase possession back.

No wonder they’re knackered. I wonder which game was the one we got outrun

How do we outrun most teams, but still look so painfully slow….its kinda impressive

  16. I agree with everyone who says Arteta gotta walk if we don’t win the PL/CL this year, but man I just can’t shake the feeling of how unlucky he has been with injuries in the run in. The season where everything was going perfectly for us, it was his stubbornness that ultimately cost us (havertz in the midfield).

How dare you post something positive about this team that is leading the Premier league and in the semifinals of the champions league and has provided us the most exciting year since 2006. Don’t you know you’re only allowed to be rate the team, the players, the coach and the fans. Come on get with it.

i can understand forest , wolves and palace giving they dont really want posession , but liverpool being there is so suprising

I read this as “arsenal have had to use more energy than their opponents in 32 out of the last 33 games”. Effort must be given in any sphere of life for excellence to be achieved. But such consistent overspending of energy eventually leads to….wellll….injury lists, careers shortened, burnout mentally, and competitive drive lost.

I’m hopeful the 2 days off can provide a breath of fresh air for the players to come back with one last push together to make memories (good ones) of the closing parts of this season.

I was just lurking to see you lot discuss the Burnley match and I’ve been struck in the heart. Slot will pay

Here’s an odd take…I think our success is too dependent on hard running. I’d love for Mikel to dial it back 5-10% and save the legs for in-game moments when it matters as well as the long haul of a season. Dial that press back just a little bit.
