  1. He was out of his depth, but it’s still unforgivable how the players have behaved and let him down. We need a top coach, but will have to settle for Iraola or somebody.

  2. Competing with Spurs to see who is the biggest clown show. Directors have failed how many managers now and still have jobs ?

  3. 5 matches, 0 goals, 5 losses.

No one could survive this at this club, not even a title winning manager.

“not terribly well managed on the football, sporting or promotional side”

  5. Imagine having the history of hiring Graham Potter and then managing to make an even worse hiring.. unbelievable incompetence.

Finally a good move. However, the damage is already done. No UCl. He is 11M dollars richer so can’t feel too sorry for him. He will pop up at Burnley or Norwich in a couple of years. You can’t be a nice guy at the top level. You need to have fight and be rigorous.

  7. Needed to be done but I wish this was a solution to our problem not a symptom of it. I have no faith in the ownership to change direction after this embarrassment.

I actually feel quite bad for him. Was never the right man for the job, maybe in 15 years when he has some notches on his belt, but this was way, way too early. The club handed him a poisoned chalice.

But its the right move imo, now go out there a get someone experienced.

  9. Sporting directors should also be sacked for bringing him in. He was nowhere near Chelsea level. No top manager would like to come to Chelsea with this ownership at helm.

That “EXCL: Chelsea part ways with Winstanley and Stewart with immediate effect” will hit harder

i can’t believe we’re just gonna keep rolling with these same sporting directors. i’m an american sports fan – i can’t imagine a world where any GM of any team spent like this and had such awful results and still kept their job – its actually incomprehensible

what an absolute clown show. Wonder who we get next

feel sorry for Liam tbh, seemed like a nice guy. This job was a disaster. Hopefully he gets a good gig in the Championship soon

  13. Hilarious how every single one of us saw this coming when he was appointed, but the geniuses running our club knew better.

I have absolutely no faith they will get the next appointment correct. They’re clueless.

Well I called it at the time. I’m actually really sad to be proven right.

He’s definitely worse than potter. Potter was handed a really difficult hand and most of his games where close. Losing by forfeit scores over and over was just embarrassing

  15. Chelsea hoping that McFarlane can pull another 1-1 against City and win on penalties I see.

… That is if they can get past semis.

  16. I wonder how Joao Pedro’s feeling, I recall he was extremely complimentary of Rosenior and picked up form under him after looking terrible for most of the season with Maresca. Now he’s been injured and will come back to a different Coach without being able to help the team or Rosenior.

  17. What’s unforgivable are these owners. UK got rid of a Russian oligarch because that country started a war. Can’t the UK do same now with USA oligarchs?

  18. Fuck the entire leadership at Chelsea for putting this guy in this situation.

Hope Liam goes escapes for a while with all the money he just made. Genuinely great person who was out of his depth because of toxic and horrible owners and leadership.

What a waste of everyone’s time and money. I hope they realize the SDs and ownership are our main issue. Like people didn’t love Liam but I don’t think any of us hate the guy. He’s obviously the fall guy

  20. Whatever. Don’t care. Changes nothing at all.

Are Winstanley and Stewart also packing up their offices? Are they being shown the door?

If no, then this is inconsequential.
