Knew there were some legs to this. Need Tchouameni in a united shirt badly. Incredible player

He would be a great signing, but really don’t see Madrid letting him go.

They’d probably let Camavinga go, but he wouldn’t be a great signing.

  3. INSNAE It would be generational redemption to get the Casemiro replacement from them but not at that ripe age again.

  4. Will be at least £100m and a fat pay check but how many better options are there?

Bit like van dyke – buy the players that take you up a level. He does that

Bruno, MGW, Tchouameni, Thwaites, Mainoo, Alex Scott.

That would be some midfield. At a cost of … £200m maybe? Surely we have that much gross budget for 2026, even if we “only” sold Hojlund and all other exits were loans, even if all the money saved on Casemiro’s (and loanees’) contracts is channeled into new contracts like Mainoo’s and the new signings’.

CF and/or LW signing would be dreamy but Im not sure it is a must, given the kids knocking on the door (Lacey, Gabriel). It takes some rose tinted glasses, but it’s not beyond believable, for me.

The defensive and GK depth-chart could be strengthened significantly at zero cost (Senesi + Amass + Vitek). Bonus: maaaaaybe there’s a fire-sale at WH/Barcodes and we flip Shaw for Diouf/Hall for buttons.

I want to believe in this now.

  6. Honestly I don’t think there’s a better fit for what we need in midfield than him. Athletic, great defensively, good passing, a threat from outside the box, big game player, big club experience, UCL experience, has won the biggest trophies and is just starting his prime years. It almost seems too good to be true.

Surely Madrid wouldn’t sell him to us?

  7. Ramos all over again. We are 100% being used for a new contract. How do people not see this.

  8. Zealousideal-Part-98 on

On paper he’s perfect fit for the 6, don’t think the club would send this out through Stoney if there hadn’t been some kind of interest from the player. Can’t have another Frenkie De Jong saga.

Ok, but why would he come here?

We are still kinda a huge mess and moving from Real Madrid of all clubs to us in this state, when we can’t even guarantee CL every year feels weird. Our wage structure is also more strict now, so i can’t imagine its money

  10. What’s his injury record like?
All reports seem to indicate that Anderson is on his way to Citay. So wise to spread the net and at least get some leverage. That said, this ain’t gonna be cheap.

Please, wanted him since Monaco what a player. Defensive and aerial beast and keeps it ticking well too but all depends on the price

Perhaps we tap him and cama as a deal pairing to solve our midfield woes all at once. Buy low on cama and pay the premium for tchouameni.

I think cama is surplus to madrids demands as I see him as a valverde type player who’s versatile. Right now his stock is low but imo he’s a real talent.

  13. If we get Tchouameni i’ll shave my head

Inshave my head every 3 days, but still, fingers crossed

  14. Im gunna take a punt that this is the overseas midfielder Mitten has been talking about for a month now, because its come out and the top tiers are jumping on.

  15. 50% of the time Madrid fans are calling him a liability and he won’t be cheap. In his own words, “1-2 years ago I was a **bad player** and got booed at the Santiago Bernabeu” admitting he was crap. Avoid

  16. With Madrid, it’s always about whether the player is pushing for the move. They ain’t gonna “not letting him go”. They ain’t fucking Brighton.

Their record sale is Ronaldo to Juve. But it’s fucking Ronaldo. Their second and third record sales are both to us, Di Maria and Casemiro. Both are around the 65-70M range. I am pretty sure if Tchouameni gonna join us it will be around that range, if not a little cheaper. Any way you look at it he doesn’t have the reputation of the above players.

Is he willing to push for a move is the question. I assume that for briefs to even come out like this, he has communicated some willingness to join. How strong is that willingness is to see. But overall I’m pretty positive we will get this done, at least much more positive than any CM deal from PL.

  17. Replacing Casemiro with the player we funded Real to replace Casemiro with would be funny and, at a decent price, honestly appealing.

If they’re replacing Tchouameni with a younger player (not Rodri) I wouldn’t mind if we were signing them instead tho.

  18. I think if we can get him for a reasonable fee, and he wants to come and play here (I don’t want another Di Maria lol) then I’m all for it.

He’s not Case replacement 1 to 1, but nobody is. We’ll need more players for sure.

I’m not sure Real actually wants to sell him though

  19. To those who are unconvinced, I genuinely invite you to roll back the years and read the scout reports on this guy and watch his clips. He is a genuine article do-it-all midfielder.

  20. JazzyScrewdriver on

I don’t think he would join us unless we’ve got evidence that we’re attempting a huge rebuild in midfield. Which is potentially exciting

  21. Him being on our shortlist is one thing. Actually prying him off Real is another. Really don’t see why he’d leave atm or why Real would want to let him go. Unless he legitimately has a childhood dream of playing for us or crazy money, which I’m hoping we’d stop doing. The only thing I’ve seen is if Rodri goes there then there’s a chance Real would let him go.

Really have to wonder why Madrid want to sell him? If it’s injury related then we don’t want another de Ligt situation.
