Wish he’d had more opportunities to play when Rodri was fit. Obviously Rodri was the going to be the main man as he got back to full fitness and form but Nico G should have had more minutes even if alongside Rodri.
He played 90mins in the FA cup game vs Newcastle on Mar 7 (1.5 months ago). Since then up to now he’s played 46 minutes of 7 games. With 30mins of that being an appearance in a training exercise while 4 goals up against Liverpool in the FA cup.
Just think it would have made this Rodri injury less of a concern if we could rely on Nico G to be match sharp and in form.

Guardiola hasn’t done Nico or Rodri or himself any favours by playing Rodri in every game recently. Not only does it create an injury risk, it also means Gonzalez isn’t as sharp as he could be when he’s needed. At least the next two games are Burnley and Southampton, very important but hopefully not as taxing as the last few.
