Looked at how Arsenal and Manchester City handle game states over the last few seasons.
The gap doesn’t really show up in overall performance, but in how they deal with shifts in the game.
City tend to stabilise and regain control. Arsenal are far more reactive in those moments.
Put together a short breakdown using some trends from recent seasons.

Interesting insight love the input. As a neutral it just feels like Arsenal play not to lose and hope you slip figuratevely or literally while CIty want to win. Look at the 2022 LFC-City match that was 2-2 and Mahrez almost won it in the end.
Interesting data but I feel like the text doesn’t add anything over the graphs here.
Why do they drop more points from leading positions? Why did they seemingly resolve the issue and why did it snap back upward last season? How is that number trending this season – even just any examples from the season? What conclusion/insights from all that can we draw about how and who they play and why they fail to stabilize or regain control generally?
