[Pearce] Still a chance that Alisson resumes team training at Kirkby later this week ahead of Saturday’s clash with Palace. No decision yet. Liverpool’s No 1 has been targeting United away for his comeback. Woodman on standby for full PL debut.

  1. From the very little we’ve all seen, I’m thusfar pleased to have Woodman as a 3rd goalkeeper. Whatever happens.

  2. I’m absolutely fine with Woodman for one game in order to avoid rushing a very injury prone Alisson back.

If there’s any player you don’t rush back its the goalkeeper who inexplicably gets muscle injuries basically every season despite barely having to run lol, bro has done his hamstring taking a goalkick before. Poor Ali is not blessed with the best genetics when it comes to injury, we need to be careful with him.

Freddie Woodman is a genuinely decent GK in his own right, obviously not top PL level but enough to get us through a game or two. And I’d rather have him for 30 mins against Fulham and 90 mins against Palace than potentially the full games against United, Chelsea, and Villa.

I remember we once rushed Alisson back from injury in 2020/21 and he ended up having arguably his worst game ever (4-1 home defeat against Man City). Absolutely fine with Woodman keeping his place against Palace.

Freddie Woodman is about to become the 2021 Nat Philips and Rhys Williams of our 2025 season, I’m calling it

  5. Dont rush him for the sake of it for a home game! Got to show some trust in the squad

Agree with the general consensus to not rush him back! Let Freddie have his start(s)

  7. Maybe having Woodman in goal will inspire the team to play better defense, so he’s not under undue pressure

I loved what he said after the match about practicing with Mo and Dom after training. Seems like a lovely person!!

Ali is minding himself to be ready for the world cup. The EPL is a bust,he has other priorities

Alisson is obviously great but I’ve never known a more injury prone keeper, on top of which he usually takes longer than expected to come back. It’s beyond frustrating at times.

Just let woodman play this game. Please don’t rush Ali back and risk him doing something worse to his body.
