I find it odd that he has barely seen game time this season. Maybe he’s defensively not as solid, but surely could get more minutes

  2. This is exactly what Arsenal have been missing. I don’t know why he’s wasted in his current position.. He’s not fast enough for a left back but he’s solid in midfield. That lads got a bright future.. I just hope it’s with Arsenal.

It’ll be an absolute disgrace if this guy is sold before getting a chance in midfield. Look how much more he makes stuff happen than “Zubi”

It’s been astounding actually to see his fall off from last season to this season. He was running rings around Madrid and now can’t get a start. I know he’s had some bad games which is why he’s been limited in his appearances, but what has happened? Was he just on a lucky vein of form that’s not going to come back?

  5. He needs loan to develop. Really love what I see from this vid but I never ever feel like he had ball under control. Relied too much on his strength to progress the ball.

He’a not been at his best this season but I don’t like how he’s barely had games to get into rhythm. It’s obvious his drive and confidence has took a hit after being 3rd option after his performances last season. Hope missing the WC won’t affect him much after being favored to start for england a year ago.

He needs a loan. Arteta would have a CB over a midfielder at LB any day

  7. We need to inspect what has happened with him not starting. Only logical guess is Hincapie coming from a team that went unbeaten and won the title is seen by Arteta to be the outright choice.

However, if you look at O’Reilly’s resurgence this season – he is doing all the things that made MLS so good.

    It’s really strange

  8. Somebody stop him!!! You can’t just go forward. Play it back. Play it wide. And play it back again. This is Arsenal!

He’s the only player in this team that can beat the press like Partey did. I don’t know why Arteta still insists on Zubi at this point.

  10. It’s a shame because defensively he’s not very bright but he can seriously play with a ball at his feet. He really does need more game time to grow this isn’t enough for a player his potential and age

BEEN saying this. At some point Zubi needs a break. We could go either with Rice at 6 and MLS at 8.

  12. O’riley is what Arsenal fans think MLS would become. Midfield turn LB which good helping offense

I get that Miles and Declan aren’t exactly like-for-like (and nowhere near the same level), but I don’t understand why Mikel wouldn’t at least try to rotate the two in midfield since they’re most similar to each other besides Norgaard

  14. Partey reincarnation, bit of a risk taker but strong willed. Why this guy hasn’t been given the chance in midfield I do not know. Fuck it, put max, Ethan and myles in the midfield for a friendly and see what happens. Ethan and Myles bossed England and who the hell is gonna say Max wouldn’t deliver

  15. None of our other players have nearly as much drive straight towards goal, nor the turn forward under pressure. It’s an aspect of attacking that is completely missing in our game.

  16. He’s definitely more dangerous offensively than Delcan Rice.

Why not put Rice at 6 and put MLS at 8?

  17. I feel like I’ve seen the exact same thread with identical comments 2 years ago but swapping MLS for Zinchenko.

I like watching us better with that kind of player in the side but Mikel won’t give them a chance in the middle.

  18. He’s our Santi Cazorla. Just needs more time in the middle, we have a line/press breaker extraordinaire at our hands and he’s wasted at LB inverting.
