I always think that Norgaard and MLS must be awful in training because how is this version of Zubimendi seen as undroppable?

It’s not the loss against City that stings. It’s the fact that they decided to suddenly play some decent football again after a month if not two. They showed that they still have it, yet they couldn’t produce this the week before?

All of the remaining games are in London (premier league). CP and Burnley will likely have nothing to play for. Fulham if they lose against Aston Villa too. Newcastle and West Ham are the only ? here. The Newcastle game just feels like one of those where they suddenly turn up for no other reason. And West Ham is fighting against relegation. Yet despite this I don’t trust this team not only to win the games but to outscore City.

At this point I’m not even angry, I’m not sad, I just am. 4 years in a row the team failed their exam. That’s not a coincidence, that’s a pattern…

Gabriel yesterday showed everyone why he should never be seen as a vice captain/squad leader, so emotionally immature for such an important player

what makes it worse is that no one in the squad pulled him aside to remind him to sort himself out

it’s pretty emblematic of why we never actually see things out properly

  4. Raya

Timber-Saliba-Gabriel(but he better lock tf in)- Calafiori(or Hincapie)

    Rice

    Odegaard – Eze

    Saka-Havertz-Trossard

if we can roll out this lineup for the 5 games and play actual football like yesterday I believe in a 5% chance of us winning the league. As for the UCL, idfk man, but City have an extra prem game, the FA cup semifinal and final to match our games with, and unlike the UCL final, I believe they all have to be played before matchweek 38?

  5. If gyokeres started yesterday he would have had zero shots and people would end up complaining about him getting zero service

  6. Need someone to compete with zubimendi next season cause I truly don’t believe him and rice are a good pairing.

  7. Raya’s so fucking shaky the team is obviously rattled from the pressure. Top 3 goalkeeper in the world to getting space jammed into Ramsdale territory of concentration. Honestly what the hell is going on.

I only just noticed how Haaland pulled Gabriel back to score the winner. Can someone explain how that was allowed to stand? Pulling each other is one thing but even outside the box pulling someone to that extent where you take them out of the path of the ball otherwise you don’t get the ball? I dont get it

  9. If we really wanted a true Jorginho replacement, who should we have got instead of Zubimendi?

  10. wedgerman_remontada on

ngl I just don’t have any faith in us to win 5 games in a row, the football we play just precludes us from doing so

we’re more interested in not losing than actually winning, we don’t like being protagonists, we don’t like setting the narrative, we let the game happen to us and then react accordingly

that’s not a team that goes 5/5, especially in crunch time, especially at this stage of the season

i do hope i’m wrong but since when do we ever prove anyone wrong

“why are you panicking, we’re still X points clear”

“why are you worried about open play xG, we’re top”

“this isn’t the City of old”

  12. Sell everyone on loan + Jesus, Trossard, Norgaard, and White.

Ethan and MLS sold — too good to not play, they deserve better.

Martinelli makes the cut given the defensive shift, but only as a bench player.

Get the next level up for ST, LW, CM, and RB. Nothing that happens this season changes my mind on this, trophy or not. COYG

  13. At the end of the day, city is 2 games out of a total of 38, it’s the it other 36 where titles are won and the team bottled, blowing leads to wolves, draws with sunderland, brentford and forest, 1 pt againts a dire liverpool side and last minute losses vs villa and UTD

It’s those results which resulted in this situation

  14. One-Inflation-4117 on

No killer instinct in the box has killed us again. Gyokeres doesn’t have the technical ability for a game like this and Havertz is nowhere near clinical enough. Especially in important games.

  15. Spiritual-Round4468 on

Given City play Weds and will certainly win, there is going to be huge pressure on us against Newcastle. If we win that and play well I genuinely think it’s close to 50/50 given their tough away games. You fancy them to score more than us but Everton, Brentford and Bournemouth are tough games they could easily drop points. Villa will of course roll over on the final day so needs to be in our hands by then for any chance.

  16. So glad we don’t gaslight ourselves anymore with ” Arsenal face a low block every game” as the reason Arteta can’t coach a midfield .

Writing was on the wall and mfs were talking about facing lowblocks

a clear pattern all season: good performances in europe before or after bad domestic performances

0-2 win against bilbao -> 1-1 against City

4-0 win against Atletico -> 1-0 win against Palace, Eze wondergoal but a mediocre performance besides that

0-3 win against Prague -> 2-2 against Sunderland

3-1 win against Bayern -> 1-1 against 10 man Chelsea

2-1 loss against Villa -> 0-3 win against Brugge -> 2-1 win against wolves (horror show)

0-0 against forest -> 1-3 win against Inter Milan -> 2-3 loss against United -> 3-2 win against Kairat

    2-0 win against Leverkusen -> 0-2 loss against City -> 2-1 loss against Southampton -> 1-0 against Sporting -> 1-2 loss against Bournemouth -> 0-0 against sporting -> 2-1 loss against City

the ONLY games that didn’t fit this pattern are 2-0 Olympiacos and 1-1 Leverkusen

Our European form did not reflect on our domestic form whatsoever, and even that’s starting to change since we just weren’t as good against sporting as we were in the rest of our European campaign

Bunch of us saw this train wreck clattering down the track months ago.

There’s no satisfaction in being right. Played like shit for months. No desire to hold the ball. No energy. No freedom. No expression. Everything locked down, the safest, dullest, most miserable football that has been eye bleedingly poor. The lead has dribbled away as we’ve just failed to beat the teams in front of us convincingly. And here we are now. A team that barely remembers how to attack and how to dominate, talking about fine margins and the need to always be perfect in front of goal, barely concealing the feeling that we’re just unlucky. We’re not unlucky. We deserve nothing for the last four months of ‘football’ we produced.

  19. Wenger did not spend a billion in his last 4 years, and he still got 3 FA cups out of it.

We signed Noni Madueke for 50 million, the window Cherki was available for 25 million..

  20. If this manager truly loves the club as much as he says he does he’d resign the moment the season ends

  21. MiserableProblem5126 on

This April has been one of the worst months I can remember we’ve won one game and we barely scraped that win too.

I think the corner gimmick drying up kind of exposed how we haven’t really been great this season just out worked teams and won using corners but we need to be able dominate teams on the pitch if we want to win these big trophies.

Yesterday we saw Marc Oriley drop another good performance vs us. On our bench we had MLS, a talent who had a similar impact last season, who on the biggest stage managed to have really good perofmances vs Real Madrid and also played well vs PSG and sent Martinelli through 1v1 with an excellent pass. Instead of letting him build on last seasons form and acceppt that young players might go up and down a bit in form, he has been cast aside and only been getting a few minutes here and there, no chance to build any rythm. Yesterday we desperatly needed someone like MLS in midfield to get through City. The openings were there, but Zubimendi didnt do anything.

We also have Nwaneri, who when given the opportunity this season played well in midfield when he had to take over for Ødegaard. He had Elliot Anderson on the ropes vs Nottingham Forest, same Anderson that dominated Ødegaard not long ago. Nwaneri didnt get to start any meaningful games even with Ødegaard injured, instead his minutes went to Merino. Nwaneri could have started away vs Athletic Bilbao and at home vs Olympiakos but instead he was benched. The way we have handled these 2 players has been disgraceful

  23. Players continue to be let off the hook for no showing as some would rather fixate on the manager because its easier.

Everyone shares a portion of the blame. Including Mikel, including the players. All of them.

  24. Our fans better boo the hell out of the team against newcastle

    Especially the manager

We hounded out our greatest manager ever because he wasn’t winning league titles despite being hamstrung financially yet he still won fa cups here and there

The current manager has been backed than more than any other with nothing to show for it

Need to make him understand that bottling isn’t acceptable

All these comments and posts about mentality, and the fans, and the players and all the whinging and moaning.

I think this sub just needs to blackout for a couple days because this is all just needs to stop.
