  1. Spending billions but only got Garnacho as the option on the bench. Better make it methanol in there..!

Just leave this here for winstanley the data driven genius

In football analytics, the gap between xG and xGOT is essentially the “Finishing Tax.” It measures whether a player’s technique is making a goal more or less likely after the ball has actually been kicked.

    ## 1. xG (Pre-Shot): The Quality of the Chance

xG (Expected Goals) tells you how good the opportunity was before the shot was taken.  • It considers: Distance, angle, defender positions, and the type of pass (e.g., a cross vs. a through ball).  • Essentially: “How many times would an average player score from this exact spot?”

    ## 2. xGOT (Post-Shot): The Quality of the Execution

xGOT (Expected Goals on Target) tells you how good the shot was after it was hit.  • It considers: Where the ball ended up in the goal frame and the power/trajectory.  • A shot heading for the top corner gets a much higher xGOT than a shot rolled slowly toward the keeper’s feet.  • Essentially: “How difficult did the player make it for the goalkeeper to save?”

I support city anyways, I’ve always fancied light blue over dark blue since 2022
