In 2013 Toni Kroos was playing in the Nr. 10 position (with Müller out wide). During the first leg of the Champions League quarter final he tore a muscle and was out for the rest of the season. Arjen Robben, who himself was recovering from an injury, stepped in to replace him. We all know how it ended.
