he has already equalled tudor’s record and sunderland was basically a draw with the ref hating you guys and a lucky goal.
it’s still 1 point at the end of the day but i imagine you’d have more points.

Yes. The decision is to hire Tudor is genuinely baffling but my guess it had more to do with timing, availability, and negotiating contract terms.
The lads seem much more confident and you could see small tactical things today that they’ve been coached on. It’s entirely hypothetical, but the team is miles better and the Tudor hire was a massive misstep at a critical moment.
Still massive incompetence from the board.

maybe, maybe not. i think if we had fired frank anytime before we did, we’d be sitting pretty instead of in this mess. Because at least during tudor’s reign, we still looked like we had some fight sometimes

Today’s match was winnable. With Tudor, many matches seemed lost before they were even played.

Think Tudor was turbofucked by all the injuries when he first arrived, but De Zerbi would’ve surely done better. He was never gonna come days after leaving Marseille given his relationship with their fans, though. Think he was always gonna want a break.
MillerBrew on
Maybe.
The midfield was at its best today as it’s been in weeks/months. A manager that gets Biss to get his head on straight can keep us up. Lolo was good today but not an option for others.
Richi isn’t good on the wing but get Muani off the damn pitch.

Willingness to play Xavi, at least today

Had we had Tudor earlier and fired Frank earlier we would have been okay. But the fact that we waited too long with frank made the circumstances so different
WemblyBeamis on
Honestly should have gotten him at the beginning of the season instead of Frank. They are already throwing bags of money at him. Could have added an extra million to his yearly and gotten him away from Marseille. Would have shown actual planning and a consistent vision following Ange.

Hard to say. We’re in the last chance saloon, when the players literally have to step up at least a little bit. Tudor also had to deal with having to put 13 year olds on the bench and some outlandish bad luck. So I don’t know if De Zerbi would have fared much better in those circumstances. He did oversee a point at anfield and an actual win (albeit in a CL dead rubber).
One thing I feel very confident about is that both Tudor and De Zerbi would have kept us clear of the actual relegation zone if they’d been hired in December or early January, when Frank should have been sacked.

I think people forget we actually improved with Tudor compared to Frank. The absolute biggest problem was holding onto Frank. The insane streak of 0 shots 0.1 xG while hanging onto that Danish goblin killed us.

It’s a team made up of multiple managers and board signings, add injuries too so may have improved a bit but who knows

Yea. The team isn’t getting wins but there’s absolutely an energy shift in just two matches. They seem like they actually care, they’re making runs, they’re fighting for the ball. In neither of the last two games do I feel like they gave up before the first whistle even blew. I think given time he’ll put some heart into this team and I think a fighting spirit needed for a relegation scrap has been missing. But giving the nod to Tudor first robed him of several matches to do that.

Absolute waste of time. Even keeping Frank would have been better than hiring Tudor
