Shearer: “I doubt he (Howe) will be there next season through his own choice. I think the money they’ve spent, he has to be accountable for that. But you cant go from 5th to 14th and losing games as they are, and not having the response every single week”

  1. On Gordon: “I wasnt convinced that Anthony Gordon took the knock in training. He might have, and if he has, I apologize, but thats sums up where and how Newcastle are right now”

On the defeat: “Its on and off the pitch, if you look at what happened last summer. They didnt had a sporting director, CEO, and Eddie and his nephew were left to do a whole, yet they’ve said they wanted signings to come in, the signings clearly hasnt worked, so that the problem off the pitch, and the problems on the pitch are there for everyone to see.

You see a team, whose manager announced last week that he is leaving, yet that team outrun and outperformed Newcastle, that doesnt sit right with me. That cant be right. Yes, they are very good team, but they are going to SJP, when Newcastle are under pressure, yet they are better team”.

If there is any mistakes here, correct me, I transcribed from the stream. Couldnt understand if he meant “whole” or “hole”, when talking about Howe and nephew.

  2. Thought he spoke really well, agreed that Iraola probably already has a job lined up too

  3. We are lucky the seasons nearly over…Leeds are fighting to stay up and are just 3 points behind us…embarrassing.

  4. England do shite at the WC, Tuchel gets pushed, Howe gets a handshake and a “why not go and have a chat with the FA” and inevitably takes the England job.

    My prediction anyway

  5. BTW, maybe I’m looking into nothing. But Hopkinson few months ago on amazon pre-match coverage said that Shearer is close to him and they talk on the phone sometimes. So the change of Shearer stance could be because he knows what Hopkinson thoughts about Howe are? It could be because he had enough, like all of us, too, tho.

Brutal but probably not far off. Shearer isn’t exactly a happy clapper in the main, but it’s reached a point when he’s saying this. Can see a club statement coming for a mutual parting in the summer.

  7. He was saying the exact opposite about a month ago even though the signs were clear as day.

It shouldn’t be by his own choice, makes it sound like he’s the one holding us hostage

He didn’t say this though. He said if he’s there next season or not will be down to Howe and he didn’t think the club would make the decision to fire him.

    And rightly so.

Let us hope Spurs do not win their match otherwise we will be in a relegation scarp. This team under Howe is just relegation fodder.

I think its good that we are losing and team is performing badly. We need an overhaul, players like Jacob Murphy should not be playing every week. We have to thank him for his loyalty and commitment towards the club but he is simply not good enough. Ever since Bruno joined us, we are soulless team without him and we cannot progress being so dependent on him.
