Who does he replace? Silva? Either Nico? Rodri? He’s very talented and an English International, but what gap is he filling. Maybe we’re just being spoiled by the incredible financial deals we’ve done recently.

  2. Completely agree! Thank you. We had creative midfielders ready to step up, like McAtee…

I donk think we break 3 figures here. Any team trying to pip us will need to outbid in wages, Liverpool dont have a spare £100m to hand, Chelsea dont need him, Arsenal have Rice, United cant realistically compete. Plus who knows, they might end up going down.

I know why some might not like the idea, but he really does look like a really good player – with the Rodri situation it buys us some security too.

  4. if we do buy him i do think it will kind of be for bernardo leaving and that’s not a gap i think he’s capable of filling

I always said this Anderson is not the player we really want or who we actually need to buy is Ada Wharton. He’s the player close to KDB who would be really helpful to unlock Haaland and get him to score more goals . I really don’t understand why do we need Anderson.

  6. What about Nico G and Reijnders, they barely got play time the second half of the season. Shouldn’t we use them instead.

He’s not worth a dime over 80M. So much more talented players that we can sign for that speculated cost

I’m an enormous fan of Elliot’s and think his combination of size, strength, progressive passing, and ability to win challenges is EXACTLY what this side needs in the #8 role in this version of City.

But the PL record is what $120m or something?

We’d have to move on to another option at that point.

I can understand why someone wouldn’t want to spend big bucks on him, and I am also against breaking the £99M mark because it puts unnecessary pressure on the player to perform.

But the issue is he is literally the best CMF available in the market rn. Available in the market is the most important phrase here. Vitinha, Pedri, Joao Neves, Rice, etc are not available. And also considering today’s market, it’s overpriced but that’s what the market has become.

Also we need to consider other factors as well. A lot of players are leaving which will open up a lot of wages. And we haven’t made an highly expensive signing. We missed out on Wirtz as well, it was understandable at that time, but when we have only two positions to strengthen now, I don’t see a reason why we can’t spend on him. The only problem I would say is if he demands massive wages (like £250k), then I would turn away. Also at the end, why shouldn’t we spend 30M more on a player than Wharton or Tonali (They will atleast cost £75M), who we feel is better suited.

Yeah I think it’s better to evaluate the situation during the winter transfer window or near the end of fall transfer window so that city knows they really need anderson. We have nico, reijndeers, o’reilly and even foden who can try to excel at the gap bernardo is leaving out
