During the 92 games under Enzo Maresca, Chelsea never lost by more than a 2-goal margin. In the past 6 games, Liam Rosenior has seen that happen 4 times being being outscored a combined 14-2 in those games.

Think your math is off a bit mate. We scored 7 against port vale

There was one against Brighton but yeah that’s it.
Very damming.

Losing by 1 goal or 50 goals is irrelevant. You either lose or your don’t.
Our points per game has gone up since Rosenior came in. You may not like the way we look or even the way he looks, but at the end of the day, we’re better now than we were before, even if we’re going about it in a very different way.
Neither are good enough though.

I often felt under maresca that in big games he really tried to keep them tight rather than going for them. Arsenal last season at the Emirates there was just no real willingness to go for it. They smashed us for 20 minutes and parked the bus and killed the game and maresca could then talk about us getting more control which arsenal happily gifted us.
Brighton did actually beat us 3-0 under maresca.

Yeah because when we went a goal down in big games he would just give up lmao
Does no one remember Arsenal away last season when we went 1-0 down and then just passed it around for 70 minutes?
Or against Amorim’s United when he subbed off all of our attackers except JP within 20 minutes?
And let’s not even forget how when he said that if the opponent plays a different formation than he expected, he tells his players to forget about the tactics they did during the week

3-0 brighton?

Maresca’s setup was often boring but he at least didn’t play to the team’s weaknesses. It turns out that if you smother the ball, your suspect defenders don’t have to do a whole lot of defending. Even Potter understood this, and god knows nobody was sad to see him gone.
The fact that Clownlake appointed someone so radically different to Maresca is just further evidence the football identity does not matter and the only trait required from the Chelsea coach is to be a sock puppet.

Suddenly getting 3-0 smoked by Brighton doesn’t exist.
And we lost a bunch of games by 2 goal difference against much worse teams than any of these teams in the picture, like Leeds and Atalanta.
Do I need to remind people of 2-2 with Bournemouth? Didn’t we give then like 8 big chances or something in a first half?
The guy walked away mid season and was collecting terrible results starting with that 3-1 Leeds game.

Time under Rosenior hasn’t been great, but sheesh we were struggling under Maresca as well. I believe it was 1 win in either 7 or 8. 20 points lost from winning positions.
