Absolutely heart breaking message from hardest down to earth lad on the team. Genuinely almost shed a tear reading this because I couldn’t imagine how it would feel to lose my Mum. Take it easy Geordie Maradona, and rest proud Mrs Anderson knowing that your son is a true star. COYR.

I know he’ll be gone in the summer, but I’ll always be thankful for his time here.
Lost my mum just before Christmas 2024, whilst my first kid was 3 months away from being born. Losing a parent young is not like any other loss. It significantly changes you in slow and unfolding ways.
The key feelings are anger and bitterness. That years have been burgled away from the time you were supposed to have with your mum. Rage that those important moments in your life that you wanted to share with your mum, like that moment you become a parent yourself, is a joy that the both of you will never experience. Jealousy of seeing others enjoying those moments can also be quite strong.
This is going to be really hard on the guy. He needs as much support as we can muster.
