[Matteo Moretto, in the article] The option for Marcus Rashford to execute his 35 million euro clause at Barça has cooled drastically, forcing the club to look towards other alternatives.

Barcelona are cheapskates and wanna negotiate United down. They don’t pull this crap on Atletico Madrid for buying other players, do they?

Bring him back, say Carrick is fine with reintegrating him as we don’t have a natural left winger and try selling him off in the summer. Worst case scenario is he stays and that’s better than choosing Barcelona’s way and continue with the narrative we are soft and will cave to pressure from other clubs.

There’s a new article about this every week and they’re constantly flip flopping so until I hear a decent source I’m assuming this is bullshit guesswork.

Deco and Barca were just being dishonest from the time they started sounding out to the media about renegotiating the transfer fee

  4. Honestly at that price he should have plenty of suitors. It’s the salary that’s a problem.

  5. Then dont sell him to Barca, i am sure if hes willing to take a wage cut plenty of Prem teams would take him for £30m.

Surely likes of Everton, West Ham etc take him?

Barca aren’t your typical cheapskates, they’re on-the-verge-of-financial-crisis-broke cheapskates

  7. Biggest issue was always going to be his wages, especially with how broke Barca will and have claimed to be over the years. The only way he’ll likely get any type of preferential move is if he cuts his wages or has a seriously impactful season of production.

Ineos better not let Barca walk all over us and try and negotiate a lower price. If they don’t accept the buy clause then we better close the door completely on them

This unfortunately was always their plan. We couldn’t force an obligation because Amorim was so desperate to get him out

  10. I genuinely despise Barcelona. Would’ve been so great if they’d end up being liquidated a few years ago

  11. United should get to the table and negotiate sincerely.

I’ve watched Rashford recently and the longer he plays for Barca the more obvious it is his liability in Flick’s system. The high defence line requires the pressing to start from attack, and we all know Rashford doesn’t put his shift in, not consistently anyway. It was fine earlier in the season when he’s getting the goals and the assists, but once that dries up then people will start to look at what else he offers to the system, and unfortunately it’s really not much.

I’m not saying Barca isn’t being a cheapskate, I’m sure partly it’s all negotiation tactic. But I also believe they are starting to have second thoughts about Rashford.

Of course if INEOS feels they can reintegrate Rashford back then by all means, ignore Barca. But Rashy is on 300k a week and unlikely to offer a 300k worth of output, United don’t exactly hold the bargaining chips. IMO losing out on a bit of transfer value just to get that salary off the book is worth the consideration.

  12. And somehow Monaco should pay up for Fati’s option to buy. Barca is such a disgraceful club.

  13. Honestly I wouldn’t be against having him back. He would nail it if we bought the right case replacement
