    Ollie Watkins: 100 Goals for Aston Villa

    Surprised not to see this posted already (unless I've missed it).

    After 66 years, the Aston Villa 100 Club has a new member. Ollie Watkins becomes the first player to score 100 goals for #avfc since Peter McParland.

    Also, he became Aston Villa's leading goalscorer in major European competitions (10).

      [Opta] – 100 – Ollie Watkins is the third Premier League player to score 100 goals in all competitions since his Aston Villa debut (15th Sep 2020) alongside Mohamed Salah (159) and Erling Haaland (157).

      Worth calling out, the ONLY Villa player to achieve this feat in the modern era … I hope folk stop looking for reasons to say “he’s not good enough, we need a new striker, etc etc” , and start to acknowledge that he’s been superb for Villa!

      I was at the game, and that goal was brilliant. I don’t think it looks as good in the highlights somehow, but the speed and movement was exceptional. A fitting 100th goal.

      Great to see Ollie enjoying himself last night and connecting with the fans. He’s a great player and I hope he goes on to be a great coach, I think he’s got what it takes.
