I was looking at Totti’s career stats and it’s actually insane that he’s the second-highest scorer in Serie A history despite playing most of his career as a #10 or a False 9.

We always hear about his loyalty to Roma and how he turned down Real Madrid, but I want to know about the actual player. Was he genuinely on the same level as guys like Zidane, Ronaldinho, or Del Piero? I’ve seen clips of his "first-touch" passing where he doesn't even look at the runner, and it looks like he’s playing a different sport.

I’d have him ahead or level with del piero and just behind zidane. Ronaldinhos peak for me is higher than basically everyone else that I’ve seen in my lifetime. Yes it only lasted a few years , but he gave me more laugh out loud
Moments , and that’s what football should be about. Totti for me is the best Italian attacker of the last 40/50 years

Totti was different. He had everything. A strong finish like a true striker. Able to make plays that were just far ahead of time like a playmaker. So intelligent.
Able to score 35 goals a season providing 20 assists and another 20 crucial plays leading to a goal.
When necessary, he sometimes just went back a line or two and played like a playmaker, then switching to play at the front like a true 9 in the same match. just incredible and kind of unique.
I‘m a die hard Del Piero and Juventus fan but Totti would have won some Ballon D‘or if he would‘ve switched to the biggest clubs.

  3. There he goes with the “How good was X?” after the efootball card release (he even posted the picture that Konami used for the card)

We shall wait for the Cafu and Ronaldinho one soon…

  4. He was one of the best of his generations, but more importantly, he was unique. His vision, passing and understanding of the game. Keep in mind he also achieved his stats ‘only’ at Roma, at a time when serie A was still on top.
