  1. I know we’re all devastated and doomsaying, but when Musiala got injured the immediate response from redditors was that his career was over.

It might not be as bad as people here are saying, hopefully he recovers well

    Well that’s fucked.

Fingers crossed he comes back from it, but, I’m not gonna lie to you lads a ruptured achilles is worse than an ACL in many ways.

He’ll have a long recovery time and might not be the same player.

    Good luck Hugo.

    >**Liverpool FC can confirm Hugo Ekitike has sustained a serious Achilles injury.**

    >The forward had to be substituted during the first half of Tuesday’s Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield after a slip on the turf.

    >Scans on the issue have subsequently confirmed a rupture of the Achilles tendon.

    >Ekitike will therefore be sidelined for the remaining weeks of the club season and unable to participate at this summer’s World Cup with France.

    >Further updates will be provided at the appropriate time, with Hugo receiving the full support of everyone at LFC.

Aside from what a start he’s had for us, he honestly could’ve torn it up at the world cup, must be devastated by this.

  5. This will be a long one to come back from, not just “recovery time” but then time for his body to heal while he’s returned. He’s young, so I’m not doomsaying, but I think it will take closer to 12-18 months before we see him back to his best.

    Absolutely gutted for him.

  6. Everyone saying he might not be the same player.. let’s just see how he does. The best players adapt, if he works in his positioning and finishing then he’ll still be class. Let’s just see how things go

All from a simple slip, that’s mad really.

While it’s a horrible injury that can impact your career majorly, Hugo’s age might help him recover from this better than someone older like Kimpembe, who’s the often cited example.

  8. There’s probably no worse injury for an explosive player than Achilles. What a tragedy, fuck :/.

That’s actually heartbreaking – for him.

It’s shit for the club but on a personal level this must be so hard for him to come to terms with.

Hope his recovery goes smoothly. Never expected him to hit the ground running like he did, so I have every faith he’ll come back stronger. I just feel for him that he’s going to miss the World Cup.

  11. My prediction is that he won’t have the same speed ever again but if his recovery goes well, he will still retain 90% of his old self. When he comes back, we just need players that can actually get the ball to him. It would benefit Isak too.

  12. Armchair social media ‘doctors’ out in force saying he’ll never be the same. He’s at one of the biggest football clubs in the world who have a vested interest in his recovery, it’ll just take time.

  13. It’s actually heartbreaking, like where do we go from here? We have 1 striker with a terrible injury record going into next season, surely not another £70m on another attacker 😭

  14. I know it’s doom and gloom since July, and it’s pretty much a weird territory without Robbo & Mo come pre-season.

Just wanna say we will be here for Hugo’s journey to recovery, here for the next season challenging all trophies, here for the new manager whenever the time comes, here to see Rio in red winning the Ballon D’or!

YNWA & up the fucking reds!

  15. Heartbreaking for us as fans and for the team but especially for Hugo missing out on the World Cup & at least the start of next season

  16. Imo he has the skills and the eye to undertake Bobby Firmino’s role.

I really wish for a system that’s built around such a pivot in attack. I know Bobby is/was one of a kind, but if anyone can be something close, it’s Hugo.

Get him on that stem cell program Luka doncic is getting in Germany, pump him full of peptides

Non-contact injury are the worse. Unlucky. Get back stronger Hugo my bro. Speedy recovery

He was good while it lasted.
He’ll never be the same again after this. Devastating news.
