We played the most games, higher intensity games, and we still have something to play for in the league while the other teams will mostly rest from here on as they want.
This will be such a crunch time for us while the rest of the teams will mostly be just playing for the Champions League. Fingers crossed our missing players come back to an already knackered team.
This the price to pay for competing in the wealthiest league in world football

Alot of our stretched and fatigued players are also going to the WC and expected to feature heavily. No idea how they are gonna come back for next season fresh and ready after a season like this and a WC as well. We are bound to hit a wall at some point if we dont bring in new players to help cover
The transfer priority this summer should be to add fresh legs to the squad in addition to fixing the glaring issues with the team (RB, LW, Jesus replacement situation etc.)

Our fault for not wrapping the league up when we had multiple chances

Getting our excuses in early this time around, you love to see it!

…and the difference between now and the start of the season is… what?
It has always been the situation we’d be in if we made it to the semis, that a tough domestic league makes it harder to compete in the CL, look at who made it through from Spain, one of the toughest teams on the planet…. who play in the only league comparable to the PL . Stop the cry baby posts.

We could also have had that if it wasn’t for the Manchester Cheaters

Well it’s Arsenal’s own fault at this point. Dropped an absurd amount of points in games they had no business doing that in, league could’ve been wrapped up weeks ago (like Liverpool did last season).

This doesn’t mean anything if we dont win

At the risk of being defeatist, it’s not impossible that we are able to rest players ahead of a hypothetical CL final. If it’s mathematically impossible to win the title by the time we play Palace, that’d give us a more than adequate rest before 30 May (but obviously hope that isn’t the situation and we still need to get past Atléti first).
But yeah, it’s an interesting conversation. It does seem increasingly clear that PL teams are at a sizable disadvantage against the big two from France and Germany and always will be unless something changes.

We also could’ve been resting in the league if not for all the silly dropped points. Forest, Wolves, United, Bournemouth etc

Going 1st in cl league phase and getting easier bracket on knockout was a curse in disguise. Now we have to play this tired squad twice a week

At this rate we need to get rid of carabao just like Ligue 1 stopped their 2nd cup competition

So you would prefer we play less games, how?
