Cama has been lukewarm trashcan juice for a while now. He proved in a handful of minutes why he didn’t start the game.
The second yellow was soft but he broke the rules. The ref did his job.
The ref’s sending him off didn’t make us concede two late goals. Losing one player doesn’t have that kind of effect.
We did it to ourselves.
We didn’t defend as a unit (Mbappe and Vini again showing forwards all over the world how not to sacrifice themselves and be team players),
Neuer gifted us a chance that just happened to fall to the right player,
Amazing freekick (you can’t count on freekicks every game),
Mbappe’s goal was the only one from some semblance of actual team play.
We were never really in this and luck can only get you so far. We were dominated in every way in each game.
We can talk about Vini attitude and him needing to leave, or we can talk about Mbappe unbalancing the team or his dictatorship. We can do that all day, but again…one or two players doesn’t (or shouldn’t) affect the entire team this way. It’s been two seasons of this. Losing happens, but not playing well and not being competitive is unacceptable.
Some accountability would be nice but these flaws run deep. Everyone in this clip is pointing at everything but themselves and that is telling.

The red card? Any player with 2 working neurons with a yellow card on their name should stay away from that kind of bullshit. Cama was an idiot and costed us the tie, even though I think we would’ve lost regardless because Bayern were all over Madrid in the last 15 minutes of the game.

How is the blame for this loss on anybody other than Arbeloa? 90 mins and 1 sub (only made the next because of the red card), never more than 3 people warming up. If we hadn’t got a red their fresh legs were going to outrun us anyway. What was his plan wait until ET and bring on the fresh legs to then out run Bayern, well if that was the plan Good Job, you screwed up and the loss is still on you.
It doesn’t matter what vein you view this from. Outside of a Nauer mistake or perhaps an individual brilliance counter, Arbeloa is the reason we lost.

This reaction is understandable but can’t be accepted. Players expect refs in games as big as these to be a bit more lenient in order to keep the flow of the game, and Madrid were clearly having good chances to score, the red card killed everything they worked so hard for in the 80 or so minutes
