Never achieved under our greatest manager, we’ve done it under Arteta (without a single loss all campaign) – but please don’t forget he is a terrible manager and we are a terrible team. And in case you do forget at any time, just check into this sub.

Got through with half our first team missing too.

    What I wouldn’t give for a fit saka/ode/timber

  3. itll be massive if he wins, a ucl semi is worth nothing in terms of presige and is not counted as an achievement for a manager by any sane fanbase of a big club

The thing with Arteta is things can only ever go so wrong. He may struggle with winning, but he’d never finish lower than 2nd with this team, and can reliably do this in the CL

  5. We played against Leverkusen and Sporting who we should expect to beat. Not being dismissive but that’s just facts

  6. It’s hard to appreciate with the football we’re playing now but this is a big step for the club.

You could argue that we got lucky with the draw this year to reach the semi’s, but I remember we all thought we got lucky with the draw against Monaco in 2015 and we all remember how that worked out …

  7. Lol these posts feel like bait after watching the dire football we are playing week in/week out

To everyone who wants arteta to leave – have you looked at our injury list? We’re missing at least 4 incredibly important players at the moment, yet we’re still top of the league and in the semis of the CL. I don’t care if we looked shite tonight – the gaffer’s decisions worked, we’re through and we did it. Plus Eze played half the match and will be fresh for Sunday.

Seems like we’re going from “Fourth place is a trophy” to “Second place bottlers and semi-finalists”

  10. There is no doubt he has learned how to navigate CL games now, and he has come far in that respect, but the objective is clear and that is trophies.

  11. I just want our best players to be available at least 70% of the season ANY year now…

  12. However Arteta’s career pans out, he has earned massive credit for raising the stature of this club. I don’t care what anyone says. Big trophies are won by teams that are “there or thereabouts” year in year out, consistently. Once you are that type of team, its about squeezing out that extra 10% that gets you over the line, but you have to be in the running first.

It might be that it’s another manager who can find that extra 10% at the end of the season, but I’ll always hold Arteta in high regard for setting the foundation.

  13. These stats are great spices for the main dish. Nobody wants spices on their own though

  14. This manager will have all the records that are not related to actually winning trophies

  15. Don’t forget we made it to the Quarter finals as well, 3 yrs ago, during our first season back in the CL

Thing is… Arteta’s recruitment is pretty average imo but he’s a good enough coach to just about make up for it in results. If only he could get the attacking targets right we could be world beaters under him.

Theres 3 teams other than us in the semis, we played athleti off the pitch and bayern left with their tails between their legs. We have been the best team this season by far

I am so glad to see this sort of post. I have been supporting Arsenal since 1886 (That’s right Alan) and we have never done this before. Even if we are gassed, we have leveled up. We just need to evolve again, keep strengthening the squad and support as fans. It’s only a matter of time before we are as strong as the usual suspects.

    COYG!

  19. None of these stats matter at all if trophies aren’t being won. These kinds of “achievements” are nice additional bonuses, not something to strive for by themselves.

  20. Keep saying it – Arteta hate is super unwarranted.

People have short memories in this sport- the fact that Arsenal is in the conversation of best teams in the sport is a miracle.

I remember when all we could do was hope for a FA cup in a good year, with our yearly celebration being ‘at least we qualified for the champions league’.

Now we are back to back semi-finalists 😭. Let’s enjoy this journey guys. History tells us this moments don’t last forever.

Saka, Timber, Cali, Ode, Merino all out……once people step away from the media induced rage bait that has been jammed down our throats we will realize that Arteta is not the problem.

But if you want to blame Arteta for the sun setting fill your boots.
