No proper striker

No proper defender, relies on a LB and a 19 y/o

Bunch of talented kids without big match experiences and you want him to win the UCL every season

Lmao he sold us a dream that we never even had. None of us expected us to dominate Laliga upon his arrival. Put us on the map, won the league and almost got the UCL in his first season. Yes his system has cracks but why would he change it wien it has worked with the right players? We asked him to lead our project, so to not be able to give him proper signings to fit his tactics is on us not him. We are failing him not the other way around let that be clear.

See, that’s the thing. These inexperienced players can only perform till a level. I’m sure even if we get the best defenders in the world, we will continue to concede goals. But missing majority of the chances we create is something, idk man, last year we were so clinical. This year we miss so many chances. Keeping the referee bias aside, fermin, olmo, ferran should’ve finished it in the first half only. It will hurt for a long time. Relying on a 19 year old is fine to some extent, it could’ve won us the match as well had ferran olmo and fermin finished the chances they got.

  2. Barca isn’t going to win UCL unless they they give priority to defense. Barca not only need quality defenders but a proper robust defensive strategy.

  3. All this with 27m spent in summer. The potential the team can achieve with proper backup and squad is off the chart. Yes we lost. But you have to accept that there is no other team in Europe that could achieve what we have achieved in the past 2 years. Project is working, trophies show that. We need serious replacements, hope we go all in this summer and give flick the players and profile he need. FLICK forever. We will come back. Visca barca.💙❤️

We dont need a new manager, otherwise we shall suffer like madrid. We

need more money to buy and sell any player.

  5. true but his game management is awful and even u know that. He has to change in some aspects

The way we play was just never meant to win knockout-style competitions like the UCL. We always play a decent game, always create chances, and sometimes lose due to back luck/bad refereeing/the one off bad game. But on average, over 38 games, we will still be the best team.

We saw this in Messi’s prime years from 2015-2020, where we won La Liga 4 times but had the same terrible luck in UCL. One bad game, one refereeing mistake, or plain luck. The same can be applied now for the past 5 years as well.

While Madrid usually performs very inconsistently, they manage to turn it up when it matters. On average we are better, but their peaks are higher than our peaks.

When the European Super League rumours spread in 2021, I was actually advocating in favor of this idea. Because on average, I believe we can be better than almost all European teams. A league format against the top European teams would almost certainly see us fighting for the top spot.

  7. Bastoni is not a solution btw. This defense needed inigo and bastoni has a lot of mistakes too. We need an experienced defender who can lead the backline and a striker to replace Lewandowski. Also, Balde needs to improve

First of all.. we gotta forget about these comebacks… They’re not easy.. We should kill the game in the first 45 mins itself… That’s what top teams do…
And be less dependent on Yamal.. hesnt Messi..
    Dribbling alone can’t win games…
Flick needs to make the team play as a whole not through Yamal alone.
And ofcourse, we need a fast and ball playing cb.. and Van de ven is the only one i can think of right now… We need a cb with pace if we’re playing with this highline…
Everything else is good enough in this team

Replacing flick would be a huge mistake at this point. I think we first need an actual striker in his prime, not an old polish tractor or a make a wish kid, and some defensive reinforcements. If we keep failing at the same hurdle in the same manner then we should think about replacement.

  10. Yeah, those Flick out shouts are ridiculous. Like i get people are emotional, but Flick is still one of the best things that has happened to us in last few years. And besides, who could we even get as a new manager? Some were saying Fabregas, and while he is doing a decent job at Como, how could we know he would actually fit us and would he even want to come here? Lets just hope we can get Flick some actual inforces to the squad on the summer, he deserves it.

As a big fan of lewandowski its really sad he is fading away he is not performing good anymore and sadly he is need to be sold only with a low wage we can keep him and look at the possible semi finals Bayern psg atleti and arsenal all of them have defensively strong fullbacks good centre backs and a proper striker

  12. Aggressive_Bat_60 on

flick has done an incredible job, the club failed him this season. even if we beat atleti, what do you mean the starting defence in a ucl match is cancelo, gerard martin, eric garcia and kounde? our striker is ferran torres (who played very well today, our best player today). our winger was fermĂn lopez. pedri is not fit, he is not playing well now that we are eliminated just let him rest. same with yamal, he grew very tired.

flick does have issues. if we do not have the profiles to play in a high line we should not play a high line. if we had gabriel and saliba in defence that’s a different story but we line up with cubarsi and gerard martin bro. also today highlighted how poor his subs are. always 65-70th min subs come on, frenkie should’ve come on from the start of the second half that decision could have changed the outcome as we looked dominant the moment he came on.

Real Madrid fan coming in peace. I think this is not a coaching issue.

Had Fermin put up that 3-0 right after Barça scored 2 in 25 minutes or so, y’all wouldn’t be having this discussion. It’s little details that matter in these games. Also the constant brain farts from your defenders taking red cards shows that they are not learning from their mistakes… I think that could be the one thing where Flick can do better.

Still, if you guys score a lot, it’s thanks to these high lines. I would also say that selling Inigo Martinez is a big flop. He was one of the most mature defenders that played in Barça in the last 10 years or so.

I know this because we had Ancelotti who was doing a tremendous job but because Vinicius and our players in the front treats every serious chance like a joke—laugh it off, then you watch Courtois saving 10 shots to keep you in the game… with only one defender which is Rudiger, while Perez keeps buying Brazilian LWs

Then who gets the shit? It’s Ancelotti, being called a no tactics coach and so on.

  14. Angrydishwasher on

Barca was impressive yesterday and presented incredible football. With normal ref it would have been different – red cards are acceptable but foul on Olmo in penalty area is clear and ref denied penalty for 3-1 opportunity.
Same with Real – Bayern, it was 1-2 only thanks to Ref who skipped clear faul in penalty area on Olise.
We cannot talk about tacticts if rules are unfair. And it happens a lot despite VAR is there. Its a joke

  15. Icookcrystalmeth_ on

As much as we need experienced defenders, we also need ‘fast’ defenders. Speed matters the most of you’re playing a high line. Defenders should be able to track back quickly to prevent any counter attacks. I feel that’s what we lack most. We’re easily outpaced by opponents during counter attacks, hence we make shitty mistakes and get a red card.

We really need the pace in our defense.

He is overachieving with the squad for sure, im sorry on paper madrid has the much better team yet look at both of us past 2 years.

  17. No-Access4524 on

Flick obviously overperformed a lot and we believe in him.But tbh his mindset and game management should slightly change.

  18. No_Student_3863 on

1 Liga almost and 1 Cup is not enough with the squad with Barcelona have. No proper striker , Poor defense, thin squad. Playing 3-4 different cups with this configuration. This is the best that can be delivered.

  19. tots-units-fem-forca on

I am all-in on Flick and his system. After last night I heard a lot of people complaining about ‘high line doesn’t work un UCL, defences win championships’. It took us to the semis last year and would have this year if it wasn’t for absolutely atrocious officiating.

We lost possibly our best CB to suspension, didn’t have FDJ until the last 15 minutes, no Raphinha in either leg, changed 2/3 front three attackers between games, Gavi back from another lengthy recovery from a brutal injury. Playing ATM at the Metropolitano, 2 down from the previous leg. They were 2-0 up within 25 minutes.

With this strategy, you will always have vulnerabilities and you will always concede goals. You win by scoring more because of how the system allows you to attack.

I’d make two conclusions about the officiating – one general and one specific to this tie. In general, refs need to be better at assessing DOCGSO. Kounde was there providing cover and Sorloth tripped over himself, as he is wont to do, because he’s a big lumbering cunt. He went to look at the screen, didn’t even watch the whole fucking replay, and ran back red-card-in-hand. Nonsense.

The second relates to the genuinely troubling level of one-sidedness in the calls across both games. This last one especially. If that was a red for Eric, then Olmo won the stonewallest of stonewall penalties ever seen. Not even checked by VAR. Absolutely insane. Barca’s disallowed goal I think is way too open to interpretation whether he was playing that ball or shooting for them to scrub out a goal. Ferran is clearly aware he is offside and doesn’t move to touch the ball till it comes off a defending player – clearly his interpretation was that he was not being played the ball in the first instance. Benefit if the doubt should go to the attacking team. In this case a doubt was manufactured and then given to the defending team.

15 fouls. No cards. That’s just refereeing malpractice. Not to mention the fact that Koke should have been sent off within 30 minutes of the first leg kicking off. These two referees should never be allowed to ref a serious fixture again.

  20. We win LaLiga twice on zero budget. CL is often lottery anyway. LaLiga is the first one to win always
    Flick is my guy!

  21. Quirky_Tank_8159 on

In my opinion the break after Musso hit Fermin (not on purpose as far as I can tell) ruined the moment me had.

But spending almost nothing to achieve this success is just scary for the opponents. I hope we can find proper backups/starters for next season for a big attack on Europe.

  22. no it is just politics, do you remember the reaction after Araujo red 2 years ago? Well there was no reaction because Barca was very weak at in politics/PR at that moment (legal stuff Negreira), even though Araujo wasn’t even close to red card (Araujo barley touched him, it was not even a foul it was more yellow for PSG attacker for simulation, watch again, direct red card without thinking, no VAR communication…) now there is a lot stronger while in these two cases against Atletico it’s less obvious especially for Eric, still it wasn’t enough and referee did his thing, I think Barca needs to fix things outside of the field and they will win it , they are the best team so that’s how things work today…

  23. Look at liverpool, prem winner/ucl fav(last season group topper-salah b dor what not)

And even after spending 550m in one window they are going troophyless-
We take this team and coach for granted- and the board knows this i just hope they make shit happen, take charge, make reforms this window otherwise we’ll only decline the only functioning elite players we have

    And here we go again.

This type of comments are part of what the media does in Spain.

I support Hansi. He has nothing to prove in football/soccer.

We had the 1:1 rule stacked in the &ss due to the mismanagement of the Bartomeu, Rosell, and even Laporta.

If we want a project, this is the way to go. It’s not easy and will be painful, but giving up on “results” only, it’s what has kneecapped us in previous projects.

The team is young and can improve. Even without improvements, its first in La Liga this season, and won titles last season.

We use to have short memory when we lost a game.

The UCL is cruel, and you only need a few solid games to win it.

Even if we only win 1 title this year, I am ok with that. I would rather win only 1 title, and build a solid young team, that win everyone or just the UCL, and call it a good season.

Guardiola was right: winning the league title is hard because rewards the consistency of a team.

    I am with Hansi.

The starting XI selection was abhorent. We need to just accept it that tactically yesterday it was not pretty

  26. TheBastardOfStarfall on

The club is at the point where either you bring him the players that he needs for his system to work or get rid of him and hire a new coach. Getting knocked out for three consecutive times in the same way is absurd, it would be unserious to keep going the same way when the faults are this obvious…
