Then Romero lost his head and got sent off and we never recovered.

That was the league table on 1st November 2023 the day Lange joined the club.

That Chelsea game man…some sliding doors moment.
But also, a better transfer window preceding it. Udogie and Sarr called back from loan. Madders, VdV, Johnson, Vicario all joined. Future looked bright, but we hit the awful injury crisis, got Dragusin in January (the perfect Ange CB lol) and limped through to the end of the year. Only got Solanke as a senior, first team ready player the next summer, rinse and repeat.
Paratici earned and burned his reputation as a canny eye for talent, and Lange has been an absolute disaster.
Frank seemed to think that the PL was going to go the way of Arsenal, all physicality and fine margins, whereas the prevailing mood is virulently anti pragmatic amongst fans and more importantly coaches/Managers. So we have a load of non-technical runners and our only creative players are injured. Gallagher in January was a crime.
Utterly incompetent management from top to bottom.

People in here just love to cherry pick things to make themselves miserable.
You can be sad that the team sucks this year, but this is pathetic.

The thing i still can’t understand isn’t what happened after the start of season 1 ange, it’s the start of season 2 which is the interesting bit to me. Everything that has followed is completely incongruent with doing this in 6 of our opening 12 games last season.
Our xGD after 12 games last season was 0.71 per 90.
Even the defensive numbers here only start to fall down because of the injuries.
Still a poor side, powered by vibes only. The result of nearly 10 years of negligence from those in charge.
Squad quality started to nose dive from the year we made the champions league final.

Sacking Ange was one of the biggest mistakes Levy & ENIC done and they’ve done a lot of those. He is a winner and proven that despite all odds. Players loved him and were united behind him.
People wrongly say he was only good for 10 games are forgetting how good we were in the 2nd part of 23-24 season once VDV & few others were back from injury. He finished 5th despite ton of injuries and poor bench.
Ange will forever be Spurs legend.

Won more league games in that little space of time than we have this entire season lol

Those opening ten games were amazing, I felt like we were unstoppable. Even with the occasional naff performance/result, like the turgid 1-0 against Luton, we just had an aura of inevitability. Like we were going to take something from every single game.
Then everything fell apart and Europa aside, has continued to crumble.

That is some grim viewing
And only 10 months ago I thought the worst outcome from appointing Frank would be boring football and 10th place
This club is becoming a joke man. The players are sleeping during games, they don’t show any fighting spirit.
ange postecoglu was the best thing that has happened to this club in years

it was good while it lasted
Those first 10 games were glorious.
