  1. Its not even the 9 months, its how he’s going to be after.

    That is seriously shit.

He’ll never be the same player again unfortunately.

I’m genuinely trying to think of many ways this season could have gone worse, short of relegation.

He will miss out on this year’s World Cup also
Why it’s always our players man 😭
We just got Isak back and now this

Athletes are so strong. Mentally, I wouldn’t even be able to handle this. You’re young, talented, having a good game then boom — your achilles just explodes and you can’t play for nearly a year. It’s so unfair.

  5. soo Leoni ACl

    Isak Broken ankle

    and now Ekitike Achilles rupture.

What awful luck we have had. Reminds me of 20/21 when we had VVD ACL and Gomez Tendon in his knee

Joyce (which still hasn’t said anything more as early as an hour ago) said that he will be tested on Wednesday to determine the degree of the injury. Calm down people, stop posting people who is desperate to be first.

Have we not learned from the Canal tweet.

Just when we thought our unlucky season couldn’t get any worse. Get well soon, Hugo.

Jesus Christ that’s basically until next year. We’re bloody cursed. One player in one player out every bloody time. Endo, Ekitike, Bradley and Leoni all getting injured from non-contact. Don’t think I’ve seen anything like this before.

What is this curse of a season man? Everything has gone against us in every possible way

  10. Awful. Sports science is always getting better to hopefully he can come back close to what he was.

Poor Hugo. Knew it was bad when they called for a stretcher pretty quickly. This season has been shit for injuries. Just read a stat that Wirtz, Ekitike and Isak have only played 88 mins together before last night. That is an awful stat.

  12. What a miserable season by every metric. The injuries we’ve had this year have been horrendous

  13. You reckon we can have a period where one of our players doesn’t suffer a career altering injury

Devastating for him. He will miss out on the WC and an Achilles tear is a 2 year turnaround to get back to full form. Im sure our very patient fanbase will register that come next season.

  15. that’s next season gone for him as well.. one of our bright spot in this terrible season. There is no way we can depend on Isak only for next season right??

What happened to last season when everyone was talking about how injury free we were 🙃

It seems one thing if a player is injured in a tackle. There’s a contact. It seems more foreboding when it’s off the ball like Eki’s and his body just decides to snap so innocuously.

9 month is rough. Very rough. He misses the WC, he won’t be back until 2027.

Isak isn’t fit. He’s only coming back from injury. Yesterday showed he has work to do. He looked like he never played in this team before. With Salah off, and Gakpo being inconsistent, we would’ve needed one forward at least, let alone possibly two now.

I like Chiesa but unfortunately seems he’s too unavailable as well. Ik that was a risk when we signed him, but we are now needing him.

I also love Rio’s fearless playing. Not every he does works, but he’s not scared to try. But he is also 17 and I’m wary of us making him a regular starter too early on. There is a burnout risk for players who rack up too many minutes early on.

I feel Jayden Danns might’ve gotten some minutes in this situation but he’s also recovering from injury issues. Unless we can pluck another gem in our academy, be it Morrison or someone else.

  17. It’s not confirmed how bad the Achilles injury is yet – he’s not had a scan and yes it looked bad but lets not speculate. He went home after he was taken off which i thought was weird if it was a full rupture.

  18. Misses the World Cup and could seriously impact his career.

    Devastating for the lad.

  19. Sometimes when the body is not conditioned properly, u get these kind of injuries. I hope we are able to fully get the guys back in peak condition.

  20. yeah I think I’m gonna clock out on this season. what a fucking mess. this is so miserable for him

  21. Being the bright spark on and off the field this season, hoping he stay strong mentally.

We shouldn’t write off next season as well but it is gonna be a lot less fun without Mo, Robbo & Hugo at the club

This is just brutal, and the real worry is whether he can ever get back to the player he was becoming.
