Every player stepped up yesterday, Pacho was incredible (as per usual, he’s been at worst top 2 CBs in the world since joining) but Marquinhos and Hernandez also stepped up when there were some question marks around them. Even Doue who was the least good player on the pitch yesterday (especially because of the comparison with Barcola’s entry) still put in the effort to help defensively and offered some control on the ball often. If these players keep working (as they’re doing) the sky is the limit for them, on their day they can beat anyone, and even if players are having off-days the physical effort they put in makes sure every piece brings something.
