[Michael Reid] Over the two legs of PSG v Liverpool Mo Salah played the most balls into the box (12), had the highest xA (0.52), 2nd most touches in the box (14), and 3rd most chances created – of all players for both sides. He played 59 out of a possible 180 mins.

It was just fucking stupid not playing him. Ridiculous. Isak was a wasted substitute. Just so stupid

Has Mo declined a little physically? Sure. Is he this side’s biggest problem? Absolutely not. Will we be a better side without him? [maniacal cackling]

  3. He also looses the ball more than anyone else, can barely finish a pass, can’t do any first touches, and can’t get past anyone 1on1.
He was the worst player on the pitch by far today besides the few min right after he was subbed on.

I mean that sounds good, but I’d also like to see how many times he gave up the ball in their box, because of a misplaced pass or dribbling into their defender lol.

The stats flatter him. Watching him in the box was far less impressive and I don’t really lament him not playing more minutes, I’m sad to say.

The guy has 20 G/A in 36 games this season, like he’s not as good as he once was, but he’s still our best attacker.

Slot’s treatment of him has been so disrespectful.

Benching our two goal scorers this weekend to start a half fit striker when we really needed to start on the front foot. Fucking genius stuff and even better man management from him.

He’s gonna go to the Italian league next year make everyone wonder why the fuck did Slot decide to completely alienate the best winger on the planet.

  9. Waa legitimately flummoxed when I saw he wasn’t starting and Isak with 0 match fitness was. How can you not start your best player, who is an attacker, in a game where you are 2-0 down. Isak would have been an option in the second half when we were actually making chances.

Again loads of shit touches from him but I personally don’t think he’s the problem. He’s declined of course but this team in general is being severely underutilised.

  11. Isak played 56 minutes and I don’t think he had 14 touches total anywhere on the pitch.

  12. I would have loved to see Mo get an opportunity as creative false 9 this year, drop a little deeper and play the balls that only he sees and can play. It seems like such a waste of his talents that he’s only been asked to play a role he can’t play to the same level this year, or get dropped.

  13. The Salah haters in this fucking sub is crazy!!! They’re acting as if everything is bad in this team is because of him as if there are other players that are better or a coach that’s been doing a good job!!

People complaining about losing the ball, that’s pretty much a trade off for any creative player, Wirtz lost possession 16 times but doesn’t get the same scrutiny as Mo Salah.

Bruno Fernandes a top creator and top assisted this season losses the ball a lot as well, KDB was no different

  15. The way Slot has treated Salah against PSG is a disgrace + pure incompetence and clulessness.

Fans also are a disgrace for being ok with it. I don’t want to hear otherwise either… pure hindsight.

  16. We know. He looked like the best player on the pitch come the second half. Gonna miss him

  17. Cue everybody blaming Salah for all our ills this year and saying he’s been complete junk

  18. Slot was bringing Salah down with him. That’s Slots last champions league probably ever.

  19. Too_much_motion_ on

Last two games, Salah has looked closer to his usual self. Still far off what he used to be but better than

Salah is different in European games. Should’ve played him more minutes. The game today was so different once he came on.

  21. RealPunyParker on

And today he came on earlier so basicallyu he would have probably played even less

  22. Which very plainly goes to show that Slot, yet *fucking again* got it wrong. Salah was our best player from the nanosecond he sat foot on the pitch, our best player at the weekend as well.
