He also looses the ball more than anyone else, can barely finish a pass, can’t do any first touches, and can’t get past anyone 1on1.
He was the worst player on the pitch by far today besides the few min right after he was subbed on.
I mean that sounds good, but I’d also like to see how many times he gave up the ball in their box, because of a misplaced pass or dribbling into their defender lol.
The stats flatter him. Watching him in the box was far less impressive and I don’t really lament him not playing more minutes, I’m sad to say.
The guy has 20 G/A in 36 games this season, like he’s not as good as he once was, but he’s still our best attacker.

Waa legitimately flummoxed when I saw he wasn’t starting and Isak with 0 match fitness was. How can you not start your best player, who is an attacker, in a game where you are 2-0 down. Isak would have been an option in the second half when we were actually making chances.
Goes to show Ekitike & Wirtz should be doing a lot better.
Again loads of shit touches from him but I personally don’t think he’s the problem. He’s declined of course but this team in general is being severely underutilised.
Isak played 56 minutes and I don’t think he had 14 touches total anywhere on the pitch.
I would have loved to see Mo get an opportunity as creative false 9 this year, drop a little deeper and play the balls that only he sees and can play. It seems like such a waste of his talents that he’s only been asked to play a role he can’t play to the same level this year, or get dropped.
Even when he’s a fraction of his former self, he’s still elite.

People complaining about losing the ball, that’s pretty much a trade off for any creative player, Wirtz lost possession 16 times but doesn’t get the same scrutiny as Mo Salah.
Bruno Fernandes a top creator and top assisted this season losses the ball a lot as well, KDB was no different
