Don’t think Carrick should be make permanent. But Carrick, who was last fired from a Chmapionship club, literally did better than Amorim ever had, and only a few months ago many in this sub told us that not even Guardiola can make this squad perform better.

More pragmatic oop, much better on the ball. We don’t press as high as we did under Amorim with midfield lacking legs and both preferred cbs not being able to go 1v1 or have agility on the turn. Much better and on the ground play with the ball rather than bypassing midfield and playing for 2nd balls.

Just as clueless under both managers. We can’t go on with ugarte any more. We need some proper, talented, athletic cms badly.

Damn.
Listen, we made the right call firing amorim. It wasn’t working. But Carrick isn’t going to work long term either.

bring all the underlying stats you want.
Just think about how long it took each to string two consecutive wins
You can’t be in the CL spots if you can’t string wins together, let alone be a Man United manager

Carrick is the better tactician, Amorim is the better coach.
Ideally, we’d appoint someone who can do both. Or if we’re going to stick with Carrick, he needs a better assistant to lead the training sessions.

That first one is the only one that really matters. I’m old and I don’t care for all the modern data obsession. You know when it’s pure dross when you see pure dross. What most of that shows us is what is evident, Carrick is getting more out of the mostly rubbish players he inherited.

Amorim is the biggest fraud and was a huge mistake. He should have been gone way sooner.

Amorim had to go, but settling for Carrick full time would also be a disaster. Iraola would be way better.
