It will take a lot to move on from the Bruno x Case set-piece combination. Genuine cheat code that has bailed us out so many times this season.

Getting tired of amad, he is way too predictable and no shooting ability, much rather have mbeumo and bruno spamming crosses all game from the right

  3. Amad really needs to improve or be sent back to the bench.

His decision making is really, really not it.

  4. Took us until 43mins to actually put a cross in towards Sesko.

What are the tactics?1 it seems like when sesko doesnt play players can’t stop looping balls in, and then when he plays the wide players are allergic to crossing. Bruno’s the only player who ever crosses.

Amad needs to beat his man and cross a ball when in a good position rather than always cutting back and shooting (ala garnacho)

  5. The Sesko chance in the first half is so frustrating, Darlow is begging to be lobbed that far off his lineĀ

Why was Amad picked over Mbeumo? He’s been struggling ever since Carrick took over. His body language shows a lot of frustration too and his defensive work is also decreasing lately

Idk what happened to Amad because he was banging in crazy shots while at Sunderland

I wish our players were more confident shooting on their weaker foot. Both Sesko and Mbeumo gave themselves trouble by taking extra touches to get onto their stronger foot rather than acting instinctively with their weaker one.

I love Amad and the tactical flexibility he provides but his output is simply not good enough especially when the goals are dried up all over our attack. Genuinely need Mbeumo to start firing again

Sesko was horrendous yesterday. He looked unfit, lacked sharpness and had the aggression of a kitten.

  11. Look at the number of players in the the box for all these open play ‘chances’ there is a maximum of 3, you just can’t consistently create chances when you commit so few players forward.

Enough chances for 4 goals. Sesko should have had 2.

Intensity was a huge problem in that first half, and it is worrisome that so many goals come from an aging DM that is leaving the club.

As abysmal as we were in the first half, we never should’ve lost that match. Biased refereeing, a goal that never should’ve stood, a laughable red card, and two goal-line clearances conspired to deny us at least a point.

Eh I don’t hold this result against Carrick. It was a serious mismatch in terms of player characteristics all throughout the game.

Firstly Bruno is a fantastic creator but Leeds are stupid physical. Funnily enough having him as a roaming 8 would’ve been far better. As we saw in the second half.

Ugarte is pretty much useless and frankly even Collyer would’ve been better.

Leeds played down the flanks, which was good for them because Amad wasn’t tracking as much and Maz is still too slow. If Amad came back, we would’ve been able to slow the crosses down the wings but we didn’t.

We missed Maguire this match, who is a better defensive partner for Yoro. Yoro is still young but actually had a better game than Martinez. Who got sent off for doing yet another stupid thing (soft? Yes but still, he’s not 18)

Offensively we missed Dorgu to stretch the width and Amad was as usual pretty pathetic. His decision making is still pretty suspect and has gotten to his head that he’s better than he actually is.

All in all it was just Leeds were way more physical. We adapted in the second half but should’ve started that way.

4-2-3-1 with Sesko, Cunha, Mbuemo with Zirkzee in front to target crosses into the left halfspace. Again Carrick did something like this second half so I really am impressed with the change of structure… I still back him for the permanent job UNLESS we get some massive name like Naagelsman or Enrique or even Ancelotti. If none of them than Carrick it is.

We created at least 4-5 good chances. Reading over social media about the game (I admit I did not watch the whole game), I thought we were horrendous, but 4-5 “good” chances a game should be 2-3 goals at least; it’s just bad finishing, and also it was our 1st game for almost over a month. I am sure we will be better in our next game!
