u can punch people but not tug at the hair softly in this corrupt league

  2. lifesizedperson on

Clear foul anywhere on the pitch and 100% would be called if it went the other way

  3. Absolutely abysmal, how are you supposed to compete for the ball with the attackers hand in your fucking face.

  4. It’s because Yoro didn’t sell that he was shot. The refs won’t give you a foul if you act like a normal human being.

Clearly this is far less dangerous and violent than a light accidently tug of a mans ponytail. Fucking clown refs and VAR, sick of them. Martinez has a 3 game ban for that too ffs.

  6. We didn’t deserve to win. But these c*nts at PGMOL sure make it harder than it needs to be.

It’s a different proposition chasing a game with a goal down if you’re at full strength.

  7. Btw Neville applauded DCL for “doing just enough” here, and later mocked Licha for questioning the red card

Might be a Utd legend but he’s a fucking arsehole nowadays. Just goes along with the anti-Utd shite you get from Sky all the time

  8. Bit naive from Yoro. As much as you hate to see it if he goes down screaming VAR checks it and it’s overturned. Blame the officials for making that the case though because the rolling around ruins the game but they won’t give it unless you do.

  9. There’s no way they gonna give it if Yoro doesn’t appeal for it. This ones completely on us.

Yeah but Martinez touching his hair was red carded but this was allowed… fucking cheats of a ref… Last game v Bournemouth now this.. looks like they don’t want us in the champions league

Lads as much as we might argue individual moments, we didn’t lose the game because of any one thing…..we were abysmal in every aspect

    elbow Yoro for 1st goal

    elbow Ugarte in the ribs

    goal line clearance

    get Lisandro sent off

    quite the game…

  13. People in this sub were blaming Yoro for this goal. Clearly not enough of them have ever been smacked in the face.

Absolutely a foul, reminded me of when Lindelof got grabbed by the eye against West Brom but all the commentary was on how Lindelof had to be stronger in that situation.

Officiating is a joke in this league

  15. We reap what we sow, Bruno whines to the ref (even though he’s allowed to as the captain) and our OWN fans call him out, nevermind the likes of Keano, Giggs, Rooney, Neville, Rio, Vida and co who always used to do the same, crowding around the ref baying for blood.

This is exactly why we get nothing these days.

I guarantee you that if Yoro had dragged himself up and along with Bruno, yelled into the ref’s ear, VAR overturns it, I’d bet my life on it.

  16. and the commentator on the channel I was watching said that it was normal to raise your hands like that when you jump. We were still sj*t in the game but this is terrible from the refs!

Crosspost this in r/soccer and it’ll get deleted quicker than they post highlights

No but it’s ok guys, the pgmol will issue an apology again which will make up for the points they keep admitting that they’re taking away 👍🏻👍🏻

  19. I don’t think it’s all that conspiratorial to point out we’ve been refereed quite harshly these past two games since criticising PGMOL.

  20. Forgettable39 on

I saw this at the time. Referees will say “his eyes were on the ball” but there is no reason his arm to be raised liek it is other than to intentionally hit Yoro in the face and make it harder for him to see the ball coming. Yes players raise their arms to jump but rarely extend it a mile out in front of them right in the face of a player they arent even shoulder to sohudler with. If ball hits your hand like this, its a penalty, because its unnatural for this jump.

This is exactly like the Dan Burn elbow on shaw in that regard, “his eyes are only on the ball”.

Oh, you mean like Martinez when he gets the softest, half a second pull on DCL’s pony tail?

    Boring

the league in the recents games has just had the worst and most questionable decisions

  22. Anyone remember lindelof getting the same thing done to him against West Brom a few years ago? Guy scored from it too…

  23. Yea yea we should still be able to beat Leeds at home. We’ll perform better next game

  24. Fire all of the VARs they are fucking rubbish. Every single one of them.

PGMOL the only place you can be absolutely garbage at your job and still not be fired

  25. 7evenStrings on

Disgraceful that you have VAR not requesting the ref to look at this.

Yoro should have also held his face and gone down dramatically or else these things don’t get called unfortunately

  26. tInteresting_Space on

There’s nothing in this world that I hate more than commentators talking about a forward “being stronger” when they’re obviously fouling people left and right, it’s such a stupid cheating reinforcing narrative.

That one goal lindelof conceded while a center forward was literally clawing at his face to get past haunts me.

  27. Do-I-Need-One on

Slight hair pull, violent conduct. Elbow to the jaw, strong physical challenge.

  28. It’s wild that VAR will search for the exact frame where Martinez’s hand makes contact with Calvert-Lewin’s hair but will look at him jumping forearm-first at full pelt into Yoro and decide it’s not worthy of a second look.

  29. We were undeniably poor and, in fact, deserved to lose the game. After 23 days of rest, we should have played with more intensity. However, the bizarre decisions that went against us, not only in this game but throughout the entire season, make these results even more frustrating and jarring.

I wonder what would have happened if Yoro had stayed down holding his head, and we’d got the physio on, like some teams who emply the dark arts more than us would have done. VAR might have had a look at it, at least.
