This is one snapshot of many you can take over the course of almost every game this season, where you find our formation in the same situation when Nmecha is not on the pitch, and we are in possession.
I feel like it does not take a person with great football expertise to understand why our midfield has had no control in these past two games. When Nmecha and Belligham play together, you will often find Nmecha not too far ahead or wide of him, so there is less of a chance of the 1v4 we see here.
In this game, Bellingham would draw in the 4 attacking players, but you can not receive the ball in this situation; they would be on him immediately. So Anton passes the ball out wide to Sabitzer, who passes it to Ryerson, who can't cross it in with the defensive players ahead, causing him to pass back and repeat.

A team of Dortmund’s size, and all due to respect to Nmecha, should not be so reliant on one player.
Im for a tactical switch too, OP.
… that’s one choice of a scoreline if you could take a screenshot of any game to illustrate your point OP /s
