Oh dont do this to me Enrique
I already made peace with the fact that you are unattainable

  2. Can’t hate this bloke. Lot of top managers can come across smug or irritating but he seems to be a top class manager that also comes across like a thoroughly sound guy.

Some managers just give the vibe that they’re perfect for this club, Jurgen did when he was at Dortmund, I thought Rafa did at Valencia too – I’ve always thought Enrique suits us

Gives me similar vibes to how Messi said “the job is not yet done and we are going to one of the most historic stadiums in europe”

Pure hopium in my veins now

  5. Remember watching Luis Enrique and Pep Guardiola in midfield at Anfield in a UEFA Cup semi final for Barcelona. Xavi was on the bench, Frank de Boer was at CB. Overmars on the wing. Cocu in midfield. Kluivert up top. Arteta was at the club but still with the B team at that stage.

Crazy how many of their players from that era became coaches and managers.

Also Manu Petit, a teenage Pepe Reina, Carlos Puyol, Reiziger, Rivaldo and Simaõ played that night. Was like watching a legends game 20 years before they would play charity games.

We won 1-0 and went to Dortmund and won the trophy

As much as I love the idea of Alonso coming home, Enrique would be the closest we could come to appointing Klopp 2.0 and this is not going to help with the tempering of my hopes.

He runs out of contract this summer. Not gonna lie it would be amazing to have him as a coach.

Hes such a incredible manager. Love this guy. He embodies the Liverpool culture so well, hed be great for us one day.

  10. He really is the dream manager. Just with player signings: football is all about timings.

Alonso is free this summer, so it makes a great deal of sense to move for him. But that means in a year’s time, if Enrique is free, bar a massive disaster at Liverpool for Alonso, it means Enrique might sign for a rival in the PL, or at least move on to a long term project elsewhere.

I still have a smidgen of hope though, until it’s announced otherwise, that Enrique might decide to make the switch to England this summer and choose Liverpool as his next club.

Likewise with players. As an example, Olise is unlikely to move this summer, and Liverpool need a RW option. But they can’t wait, which means they’ll need to sign an alternative. Which means that next year, if he is on the market, it becomes that much harder to sign him.

  11. Only hypothetical but still – Alonso next year or another year with Slot and then Enrique? Tough call for me, but as much as I want Slot out, think I’d rather wait for Enrique.
