I might take stick from this, but the mentality works also on us fans.
I get it, they are paid millions. But are they under huge pressure and are they struggling? Yes.
But we as fans have one job to do during a match. Push the team forward and support them, give them some help and create a fucking nightmare atmosphere for the oposition. Now it is not a rocket science to cheer and help create an atmosphere in the stadium. Its not like you have to take the skill and make quick decisions on the football pitch.
But if we look ourselves in the mirror, have we as fans been doing absolute maximum to help the team during games? That atmosphere looks flat as ever, you can feel the nervousness through the screen. Have we been let down year after year? Sure. But can we make a push and support the team that needs its the most and are we doing enough us as fans? No way. We can then moan AFTER the season when we have not won anything.

A win today could have PRETTY much closed it out and they couldn’t do it. We can still take this, but the players on the field have to ACT like they give a shit.
Absolutely no fire at all in a game that should have been a pretty easy win. Only one goal and that was on penalty.

I’ll never understand the logic of beating down the team you supposedly support at the time they need the support and positivity the very most to get them over the line.

No one wants to see performances like today and they will know it wasn’t acceptable as much as we do but some people are acting as it’s the post season and we’ve won sod all.

There is so much noise within our fan base and obviously outside about “mentality”. I genuinely think it’s an issue of quality available to us right now. That front four today is the least technically proficient we have. And lineup in general had reduced press resistance which was the big strength of ours and feature of previous recruitment cycles.
Mix in more game time for a healthier Eze, Odegaard, Saka, Timber, Calafiori and games go differently than today. I don’t think today is some reason to panic or question the tactics. This year has had so many injuries that Arteta has constantly had to adapt every few days and games with no rhythm being established. I can’t help but feel the next few weeks are going to be better with these names coming back and there being more rest between games
Can’t stand the double pivot anymore. It just does not work. Raya had the 2nd most passes – it’s not acceptable.

I’ve been saying that since the Liverpool result in January. We have papered over the gorges of this team.
We won’t stand up. We won’t be counted. In 11 days time, City will be top of the league. Arsenal do not have the mentality to get over the line, it’s as simple as that. It’s been clear for 3+ years under Arteta.
I can only advise us all to finally sit down and shut up – because that’s the only way this fanbase will weather the storm of what’s coming when City win the league.
No doubt the team has the quality, but do they have the mentality to bounce back. We have to wait and see if they can do it or be embarrassed forever
It’s not a mentality thing, it’s a fitness/fatigue issue. It all stems from committing first team players to the league cup and fa cup.

I am personally sick of them being so distracted with other cups that they can’t finish the league.
