Wtf is this? You can’t just cut the scenes so it fits your narrative. There’s no end product from these, these little flicks and nice touches from him usually end up as a misplaced pass, a failed shot or a possession loss. I don’t care how nice they look, if it doesn’t help us even a little. So far his performance is way below what was expected from him, we could’ve gotten more from Harvey, tbf.

if you need him to turn into a specialist 10, you need a specialist number 6 defensive midfielder alongside an engine number 8 like szobo. Which means we will have abundance of midfield players for midfield double pivot.
Best is to get Xabi and let him get the best out of Wirtz, Eki, and Isak. Our team is built to play with wingbacks rather than wingers.
playing 4-2-3-1 with fast wingers and a defensive midfielder is what can work. But will need to buy 2 pacey wingers and a cdm.
or we can just get Xabi, who plays a 3-4-2-1 system. For which we will need a buy less players. Maybe a Defensive midfielder and an additional CB.

It seems a lot of our fan base don’t actually realise how good he is. He is easily the most talented player in our squad, footballing IQ, first touch and vision world class already at a young age. Unfortunately our players don’t move enough for him so he holds onto the ball a little longer than he should and they don’t understand his awareness at generating space with quick one twos. Scary to think what he could achieve with a manager who knows how to use him and the team around him

I like his positioning, dribbling and awareness but think he needs to be much more clinical and improve his passing technique. Too many of these dribbles end in a weak shot or a misplaced pass. I also rarely see him make curling crosses into the box like Guler or de bruyne, more often he dribbles into the box and goes for cute flicks that don’t always come off.
Comeback you say, yet for one of the very few times since becoming a Liverpool fan, I have ZERO hope of it happening. The other time I can remember was Barca, though, so who knows 🤷♂️

Dude, that’s great that he manipulates space and other stuff, but lets make it really simple, he needs to start getting goals and assists, football is not that esoteric.
