I read the entire statement and it’s a complete load of shite. Multiple mentions of inflation and rising operating costs as if those problems are insulated to football and not felt more by the fan than by a billion dollar organization. He even acknowledged that this small percentage raise won’t even be a significant increase in revenue but is being done to offset inflation. So then why even do it?

No regard or respect for the fan. They think because they met with supporter group once, and froze youth tickets that they covered their asses. Disgusting “woe is me” attitude. No one is forcing them to be “self sustainable” so why pass the expense onto the fans and not reconsider what made them spend 450 million last summer with nothing to show for it

Why don’t these exec types (in all industries tbh) not realise that if they just made some small sacrifices in their astronomical earnings and benefits than their proclaimed “necessity” of price increases would go down a lot less like a cup of cold sick. Even just a show of attempted mitigation and some humility would go a long way.

  3. Bollocks with Inflation, where does your morals lie when you’re banking on fleecing supporters for 1.2m a year yet sit 4th/5th on the list of how much was spent on agent fees. Get to fuck billy lad

“go on, have your little protest, and then get back in there and provide that Famous Anfield Atmosphere™️”

  5. NUMPTYNORRIS on

Whatabout the changes to the no empty seat policy? Are we allowed to protest the ridiculousness of that? Getting into the ground? The difficulty for non season ticket holders to get tickets? List goes on and all of these are issues with facts and firm grounding. The what and why things are as they are is rarely revealed by the club.

The level of hypocrisy in this email is embarrassing.

Ticket prices go up and performances go down. If people really wanted to protest, hit them where it hurts and stop buying tickets.

So Billy tells us we want to win trophies, and all the reports tell us John doesn’t care about thr likes of the FA Cup etc., all that matters is qualifying for the Champions League.

These greedy pricks talk some shite!

  8. This issue is less black and white than the slot debacle. The club has grounds to rise prices due to the awful economic situation with prices, and hasn’t done so too aggressively, but at the same time, it would be detrimental to price real fans out of the games when we are already heading down a dangerous slope

  9. I don’t understand the fury over this. This is a very reasonable approach to raising ticket prices. The raises are very modest too. I am Canadian and never been to Anfield so this does not impact me but my 2 cents.

This is 10 times worse than if they just said nothing. Should have done another round table to justify it. Need to say no whilst we can

Here’s an idea…how about increase the price of a concert at Anfield by the cost of inflation….should more than cover any lost opportunity cost of raising matchday ticket prices.

  12. I think it’s good to see them trying to get ahead of the protests. I think they’re a bit worried this time.

It is the straw breaking the camel’s back after years of fans paying above inflation prices for tickets the club not far removed from bragging about record revenues crying about inflation.

Really could see us and Everton protesting this season seeing what’s happened to them as well.

  13. > is grounded in the facts – what is changing, why it is changing, and what it means in real terms

Is this Chat GPT? Pretty clear what it means in real terms you prick

  14. Otherwise-Ad-2578 on

FSG gives fans awful football and then raises ticket prices?

It’s like going to the supermarket and being given bread with crap in it for twice the normal price.

  15. Prestigious_Risk7610 on

Anfield is one of the cheapest grounds to visit…. especially when you consider the brand

    2 comparison
    – I regularly go to my local non league – that’s 20 quid to get in (although I do get to drink in the terrace)
    – I’m on holiday at the moment and decided to get a ticket for Mallorca. 75 euros for the cheapest ticket available (50 euro tickets were absolute cheapest but had sold out).

  16. A CEO being a sociopath…SHOCKER.

Let’s be clear here, his job is to make as much money for the club/owners. That’s it. He’s not here to do anything else. That’s his literal job. So of course he’s going to defend trying to get another tenner off the average Joe while he makes a few million per year.

This is an absolutely tone deaf response. Without Klopp around, this club is turning into another soulless bullshit club full of heartless cunts. Fuck em all.

  17. Does anyone have the actual values as opposed to percentage bullshit?
    – how much was a ST 10 years ago?
    – how much is it today?
    – how much will it go up by?
