I imagine the likelihood of these two not being able to set foot in at least one country after this summer is high

If they’re the best in England, the state of English referees is going to be a topic at the end of this World Cup. Maybe then we’ll get non English referees who actually are best in class to come in to augment the English ones and get a professional VAR crew who do not think the on field refs are their pals who need protection (check the impact in baseball and cricket). But pigs could fly too.

Referees are like airline pilots, nobody remembers the times everything went smoothly. But you make one big mistake and people talk about it forever.
