FC Barcelona inform that the Club legal services have submitted a complaint to UEFA today regarding the events in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Atlético Madrid. The Club considers that the refereeing did not adhere to the current law, directly influencing how the game progressed and the result.
The complaint centres around a specific action. In the 54th minute of the match, after play had been restarted correctly, an opponent player picked up the ball in their area without being shown the corresponding penalty. FC Barcelona understands that this decision, along with a grave lack of intervention by VAR, represents a major error. Accordingly, the Club has requested an investigation be opened, access to refereeing communications, and where applicable, official acknowledgment of the errors and the adoption of the relevant measures.
Along these same lines, FC Barcelona consider that this is not the first time in recent editions of the UEFA Champions League that unfathomable refereeing decisions have had a detrimental effect on the team, creating a clear double standard and preventing competing against other clubs on a level playing field.

Will this yield any benefits for us? We lost 2-0 and nothing changes that no?
I’m going to be honest, we shouldn’t do this, yes you could argue we were disadvantaged and I think with Koke I have the most problems, but let’s not pretend we wouldve won otherwise, tactically we weren’t quite up to par and Musso had an incredible match. Lets move to the next match and not distract ourselves with this.
Just let it go man
Yes it puts pressure on the refereeing team to not fuck us over again. Why do you think Real Madrid get so many favorable calls, it isnt some grand conspiracy. Its fear
I don’t like when we do this..
Just don’t keep committing silly defensive mistakes every year in crucial moments and score the chances you have.
It’s infuriating, dominating, creating chances, wasting them so just for the opposing team to score first one they have.
Maybe some pressure on the referees to officiate properly for the return leg. I say we need to do whatever it takes to keep them on their toes.
This is embarrassing. Yes it was wrong but this only happens when we lose. If we somehow won, would there be a complaint?
I’m tired of watching shit performances, missed chances, and no end product just for us to whine that we lost because of the refs. Fuck man. Do better.
Nothing burger
Honor.
It will put pressure on the referee for next game. No one wants public shame like this
Grasping at straws here. It was a human misunderstanding, not a last time hands to prevent a goal.
This is honestly embarrassing. Yes, the refereeing wasn’t perfect—but it wasn’t nearly as bad as it’s being made out to be. We lost because of our own mistakes, plain and simple. When you take 15 shots and fail to convert even one, the responsibility falls on the team. The blame is on us, and we have to own that.
These complaints are useless. Nothing changes.
What are these comments. Our fans are really foolish. So you don’t want us to complain and just accept wrong decisions and play better. You all act as if we are playing a third divison club, we should win regardless of what the refs do. Its a CL QF ffs, even the simplest of wrong decisions can completely change the game, no one dominates the entire time in the CL, you need a bit of luck and hope the refs don’t f… you up.
And anyone who watches football knows that we have been getting f…. up by refs for quite some time now meanwhile our rivals….
Like I still remember that group stage game against Inter 3 years ago. It was like the ref literally had bet against us.
They honestly should go back to the 54th minute, give Barca a PK and play on. That is how it should 100% work with a new ref and whole new crew. Never going to happen but it should.
W hopefully the ref is suspended indefinitely but still the damage is done, all we can hope for is a comeback.
They’ll suspend referee till the end of the season at best and nothing else. It’s frustrating how referees become blind when it’s a Barca match
We lost in 2016 when we should’ve had a penalty instead of fk. But this time, I’m pretty sure 99% of the referees would’ve chosen to show Cubarsi the red card, he might have actually been reluctant to before VAR because of his decision from 2024 was discussed a lot.
ref can get punished good
pressure on the next ref good but not really what i want from us it’s really madrid style
