They have some of the best passers in the world but another big reason for their insane accuracy is tactics. They know each other, always a safe option to pass. They keep it fluent and let the opponent run until a forward makes a perfect run. Sometimes it took 5-10 minutes of passing to get that moment but they managed to hold the ball for that time

PSG play with the desire, energy and intensity of a peak Klopp side. We play like a lethargic, timid, panicky 2026 Slot side.

This is what I thought Wirtz was going to do for us…

There was a time not long back when we used to see such stats in our favour and now this lmao.

Sort of funny looking at that map and remembering Henderson being slagged off for only passing it sideways.
The reality is that Gravenberch and MacAllister cannot do what Vitinha or Neves do, it’s like comparing apples and oranges. I bet it would be very difficult to find any Liverpool with those types of passing stats over the last 20 years.

Our squad is dying for a player like Vitinha or even Neves. That type of profile would change our game. Macca was probably closest to that last year but he hasn’t been able to do it this season.

seeing their midfield against ours was shocking. i mean the first 20 minutes of that game pictured very well how the rest of the game went on. I completely lost it after all the changes and i saw that Szobo went off. Who stayed on the pitch you ask? Alexis fuckin MacAllister. i love that dude, but he’s not even a sahdow of his old self. weak in battles and no spark offensively. Maybe it was a smart decision by slot to safe all the fresh legs for the actual important game on the weekend. idk. i think he has lost it, just like me

Vitinha + Neves combo closest theres been to a Xavi + Iniesta style since the late 00s.
The Modric + Kroos duo are rightly lauded, but not similar types of players really.
Considering that this is our attack formation… This is not surprising… AT ALL.
Did Slot try to imitate Marshal Zhukov human wave tactic???

That’s a massive indictment on our performance during that match.

People have been clambering all season for a destroyer in midfield; for me I’d take A Vitinha any day. He and Neves were a joy to behold yesterday. The entire team is really.
I know people also talk about desire and fight etc and I get it, but actually what you see in PSG is fluidity, composure, team passing… all things Liverpool are lacking just as much as grit or passion.

Szobo could play that role

Many teams have won with 26% possession but you have to play great counter-attacking football.

How many of them went back to Mama when we were in the attacking half…. our build up play is atrocious

Imagine what Enrique could do with our squad
He’s completely fucked our identity. 27% possession.. Christ.
