      Yeah, it’s not the first time he’s doing that. Same for Vini, he did almost the same thing during Valverde second goal with City when Brahim was sprinting.

      Yeah, I kinda got to the conclusion that his pitch IQ is very very low. He sees Vini going 1v1 with Upa, and the smartest thing to do here is make the run to the far post , which he can do easily given his explosive pace. But he either too stupid to read the game , or too lazy to run or even both. Every game I see at least 4-5 situations like this with him

      He does this multiple times every game. I’ve seen him stop running on counters to ask for the ball in the center of the pitch. A player of his calibre should know better.

      He forces our midfielders to go into the box and when the opponent attacks us on transition, our midfield is bare bones

      The way he always like to stay out the box while on counter is killing me (sometimes) bro.

      He also likes to force shoot from outside too, like that one chance, mf you’re against Manuel Neuer not some random GK. You could’ve pass to your teammates too.

      On a individual level he is phenomenal, but very low football iq. Benz didnt have as good shooting or pace as him but his football iq was something else. Very underrated footballing iq on big benz.

      2 v 6 is not a counterattack. They needed to wait for help and Mbappe achieved that brilliantly. Even Mbappe and Vini can’t find space to run into the box when they are against 3 defenders each.

      Maybe we can also talk about the guy who’s carrying the ball and slows the fucking attack to a crawl, allowing Bayern players to come back and thus closing down all space?

      It takes effort run into the box, out jump or out muscle a defender, risk injury by over stretching , crashing into the gk, or having your run wasted because the pass is bad or intercepted. Dropping deep is easier because you now have acres of space between the lines to execute a training ground shot. Mbappe has the pace and skill to do both but he always opted for the easier option, even though in some cases the best option is to run n exploit the space left open behind the backline, especially against non haramball teams like Bayern and barca. He will dribble with the ball but dislikes receiving the ball on the run.

      All his dribbles and shots ended up being saved by Neuer but the only goal he scored was off a good no 9 type run to far post from Trent cross. Jesus.
