That’s a penalty and second yellow. Ball was stopped and kicked by goalie. Subsequently the defender touched the ball in play the ref let them off the hook.

It’s still a cheap way to get something,it’s not in our dna,we play pure football, if it were in our dna, we would have also parked the bus in 2018 vs roma , in 2019 vs Liverpool and in 2025 vs inter Milan too when 2 mins were left(which is still far less cheap than getting a pen like that)

  3. I thought I was crazy when I noticed this and nothing was given. Barca players didn’t react so I thought it was no big deal. Maybe the refs whistle hadn’t gone yet

  4. By the rule book, it is a penalty. But I heard it is also up to the referee and he probably decided against it since there was no advantage gained as a result of it. If we were pressing when this was happening, it would have been a different story

  5. this is a rule like the goalkeepers cant hold the ball for more than 8 seconds thing, it is never given, happened to arsenal against bayern like 2 seasons ago and turpin did not give it as well

  6. Shoulda, coulda been. Ain’t no hypothetical that will give us the cope we need.

There was another game some time back with different teams where this was given. You could hear the commentators chat about it and be shocked that it wast given.

Brother just admit it cubarsi stank up the whole stadium today and we can’t do anything about it

  9. by the rules yes, though i’m fine that it wasn’t called. the same thing happened in the arsenal-bayern game a few years ago and it wasn’t called then, so i think it’s good to have consistency with weird calls like this. it’s also pretty harsh on the defender. obviously would have loved a penalty though

No, spirit of the game. Let’s play the game to see who actually played better football not tryna win off some unknown technicality

  11. A more interesting question is, how many fans here would demand for this to be a penalty if the roles were exactly reversed. If Barcelona had been winning a difficult, decisive Champions League away from home and then Cubarsi or Eric García suddenly did this. The answer is somewhere around 0.001%

We are always finding excuses and way to cry lol. We just played shit let’s take the loss and move on no point of going back to the game and complaining

Ref has already blow the whistle to start the play. The keeper kicked the ball to him and he touched it with his hands. Clearly pen and yellow card.
